MCT Trending Now- Nautical


Hiya! We're exploring the nautical trend today at MyCreativeTime. I used the Anchors And Hearts Dies by MyCreativeTime. I cut the anchor out of Post It Paper to make a mask. I inked over a chevron stencil to create the pattern. Then I peeled up the mask, and VOILA! A patterned anchor! Easy peasy! I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies to cut the panel.

MCT 42nd Edition Release Blog Hop!

Hello! You should have arrived from Lucia's Blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. For my card today I used the beautiful new Believe In Your Dreams set. I used the coordinating dies from the Believe In Your Dreams set to cut the feathers from the panel I made with the Stiched Rectangular Frames And More Dies. I then stamped the feathers with Stazon ink on vellum. I used R81, 83, and 85 Copic markers to color them from the back to mimic the ombre of my card base. I adhered them behind the panel, and adhered patterned paper behind the vellum. The patterned papers I used are from the Capture Life 6x6 pad by Echo Park. The greeting is also from the new Believe In Your Dreams set.

MCT Trending Now

Hiya! It's Trending Now Thursday at MyCreativeTime. Today we used our dies to create a stencil. I used the Stitched Square Speech Bubble Dies to make a stencil. I inked over my stencil with butter bar, orange soda, and tide pool Hero Arts shadow inks. Before removing the stencil, I used a black marker to outline the bubbles. I stamped and colored the robot from the Best Bots Forever set with my copics. I added wink of stella and glossy accents to parts of the robot. The "gear up, it's your day" greeting is from the Best Bots Forever set. The "Birthday wishes just for you" greeting is from the It's All About You set. The "fun" greeting is from the Things I Love set.

Sending A Little Happy Shaker

Hello! Today was day 2 of the Stretch Your Dies class at OnlineCardClasses. Today was all about flower dies. I didn't do any of the special techniques showed in class today. I just played with dies and had fun. :) I made a circle border shaker with the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies from MyCreativeTime. I used the Stitched Pretty Flowers And Leaves Dies from MyCreativeTime as well. I used the Sending Sunshine set from Wplus9 for the "sending a little" greeting. And the happy is from the Happy Trio Dienamics from MyFavoriteThings. I did the same greeting yesterday...I kinda love it. :) OH...I did do something Jennifer McGuire did! I added little dots of glossy accents here and there. Pretty cool. :)

Thinking of you

Hello! It's day 2 of Clean And Simple 4 class at Online Card Classes. Today I fell in LOVE with the fabulous Shari Carroll's awesome technique...stamping with fun foam! I am seriously smitten with this technique. Incredibly easy. Incredibly fun! I used the Pointed Feather Dies from Simon Says Stamp. I cut it out of white fun foam to make my stamp. I inked it up with Mint Julep Hero Arts Shadow Ink and then rock-n-rolled on some Soft Pool ink. While I liked the first stamping, I super loved the second generation stamping...and that's what I used on my card. :) Subtle and lovely. 
I also cut some vellum feathers with the Pointed Feather Dies. I used the ink splotch stamps from the Family Is Everything set from MyCreativeTime to add gold embossing to my vellum feathers. For the sentiment, I used the Chocolate Greetings set from MyCreativeTime.

An Orchard of thanks!

Hiya! Today is day 1 of the Clean And Simple 4 class at Online Card Classes. The fabulous Julie Ebersole showed a cool technique called Faux Ceramic Tile. I decided to give it a go. :) For my version, I started by gluing 2 pieces of watercolor paper together. I put post it paper over that. Then I used the little apple die from the Love To Learn Dies from MyCreativeTime. I peeled off different areas of the mask so I could color my apple with shadow inks and daubers. Then I spattered with black soot distress ink....and then I added clear embossing powder to make it tile-ish. :) The greeting is from the Fruit Sentiments One set from PeachyKeenStamps.

Heartfelt Thanks

Hello! I'm playing along in the My Favorite Things Color Challenge. I still don't have any MFT stuff, but it's still fun to play along. :) Here is my card...
I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More dies from MyCreativeTime for my card base and layer. I used the Stitched Sweethearts And XOXO Dies for my heart. I die cut it, and then did some masking to make it lined. I used Hero Arts Shadow Inks in Stone Wash, Lime Green, and Passion Flower. Pretty darn close to the challenge colors. :)
I used the Happy Thoughts set for my "thanks" die cut word, and for the "heartfelt" stamped greeting. I resisted the overwhelming urge to add sequins...this is for a guy. HA!

MCT Made in Minutes Love Card

Hiya! It's Made In Minutes Monday at MyCreativeTime. For my super quick card today I used the Uppercase Fun Dies from MyCreativeTime. I also used the Stitched Sweethearts And XOXO dies for the heart to replace the "O" in love. I used glitter paper behind the letters. And to spice it up just a bit, I strung some beads and sequins to hang in the ♥. :)

Happy New Year!

Hello to all my bloggy pals! I've made a few of these simple cards to send to family and friends to usher in 2015. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a fresh start! :) Anyhoo, I used the number dies from the 4x6 Stitched Journal Die by MyCreativeTime. 
I popped some glitter paper behind the year. BTW, don't you think 2015 looks great, design wise?! :) The greeting is from the Card Sentiments set by MyCreativeTime. 

I hope 2015 is a fabulous year for you. Fill it with people and things that make you HAPPY!

Head of the Class Blog Hop!

Hiya!!! You should have arrived from Shar's Blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. For my first card, I started by stamping the Fun Letter Background with black ink on kraft cardstock. Then I stamped the lined background from the Get Schooled set onto the 3x4 Journal Die. I then used the Fun Stitched Edges die to cut the top. 
The teacher die cut and apple are both from the new set called Love To Learn. I gave the apple googlie eyes and drew in a mouth with a black marker. :) The number 4 is from the new Number Fun Dies. The my was stamped using the Alpha Pack. And my next card uses this new release in a totally non-school related and completely simple way...
I used the new Uppercase Fun Dies to cut out the negative of UR for my panel. I used picked raspberry distress ink to do an ombre panel for behind the letters. I covered it with clear wink of stella glitter pen. You can see the shine here...
I stamped the greeting from the new Love To Learn set with charcoal Hero Arts shadow ink. Super simple card, but I love it! :)

I miss you

Hiya bloggy buddies! :) Here is my card for today's Stretch Your Stamps 2 class at OnlineCardClasses. Sorry for the cruddy photo, it's getting dark here. Anyhoozle, I used letter stamps as rain as inspired by the fabulous Kelly Marie's awesome card. I cut the 3x4 Journal Die from white cardstock. I used the adorable Stitched Cartoon Cloud Dies for my clouds. I used the new Alpha Pack set from MyCreativeTime to create my word rain. ;) I'm smitten with the Alpha Pack! You NEED it! :) All the patterned papers are from the Lets Polka 6x6 pad from Lawn Fawn.

Thinking of you-Inspiration Wednesday

Hiya! It's Inspiration Wednesday at MyCreativeTime. Today my card was totally inspired by the Stretch Your Stamps 2 class at OnlineCardClasses. I started by making my ombre background. I inked up the Cartoon Cloud Background all over with Mint Julep Hero Arts shadow ink...I then inked over that on the bottom with Tide Pool Hero Arts shadow ink...and then I went over where the colors met with Mint Julep again to blend them. Then I stamped it on white cardstock. I used the Stitched Sweetheart and XOXO's dies to cut out my heart window. 
I filled my window with Crystal Clear sequins and the silver sequins from THIS pack. I stamped my sentiment from the Chocolate Greetings set onto the smallest banner in the new Trio Stitched Banner Dies set.

MCT Inspiration Wednesday "Hello"

Hello! It's Inspiration Wednesday at MyCreativeTime. Today I don't have a picture of my inspiration, I just wanted to make a background with masking and do a raised die cut greeting. I used the Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Dies to cut masks from some acetate. I then created my background sponging on ink and masking as needed. {mask off the flowers after inking to add the leaves} I made the little dots using the Pretty Spring Wreaths set from MyCreativeTime. I used the following Hero Arts Shadow Inks on my card...Bubble Gum, Fresh Peach, Lemon Yellow, Mint Julep, and Passion Flower. 
For my greeting, I used the Hello die from the Speech Bubble Sentiments set. I first cut it from my masked background panel. I then cut it 7 more times from white cardstock and glued them all together with the die cut from the background panel on top. This way the greeting looks like it's floating off the panel. :) To finish it off, I added glossy accents for shine.

MCT 32st Edition Release Blog Hop

Hello! I hope you're having fun hopping! You should have arrived from Katie's blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. :) For my first card I stamped the seaweed and seahorse {I colored the seahorse with distress markers} from the new set called Surf's Up. I stamped them before inking in the water. What I did is what I'm going to call permanent masking. I went over the stamped images with glossy accents and let it dry. After it was dry, I used my distress inks to make the water scene. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good. ;)
Here you can see the shine from the glossy accents. I did it this way because it would be borderline impossible to cut masks that little. {and I'm not interested in going blind or getting arthritis} ;) The greeting on this card is from the new set called Sit Back & Relax. And here is another quick card I made for this hop...
For this card I started with the Stitched 3x4 Journal Die. Then I cut the rainbow talk bubble with the die in the Speech Bubble Sentiments Stamp set. 
I used the thanks die from the new Happy Thoughts set to cut my greeting. The sweet little birdie is cut from the die in the Hello Chickie Stamp Set. Her face is from the Chickie Face Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps.
