I stamped and white heat embossed the adorable sentiment from the new set called Beary Special Thoughts on kraft that I cut out with the Curly Label Die. For my sweet bear I used the Tear Bear Die from PeachyKeenStamps. The Tear Bear Die comes with 4 faces, but I wanted to make my own. I used the eyes from the Critter Faces Medium set, and the nose and mouth from Everyday Character Face Parts. I just masked with some regular scotch tape.
I added some glossy accents to her nose for shine. The red twine for her bow is from Liz's Paper Loft. The papers are from the Love Me collection from My Mind's Eye.

3D Wednesday

Hello! It's 3D Wednesday over at MyCreativeTime...For my project today I chose to make a magnet. I did have a sheet of magnet material {from michaels} but I wanted to make something pretty out of something ugly...Yeah for recycling! I used that lawyer's ad magnet {always come on new phonebooks} and Emma's die from the Just Simply Live set. Ran the die through my Vagabond...and it cut like butta!
Sorry for the dark photo, but one of my overhead lights is out in my kitchen. Anyhoozle, I used the die from Just Simply Live again to cut out the kraft to go over top of the magnet. I stamped it with the Coffee Backgrounds in toffee crunch memento ink. I went over it with matte mod podge so it would hold up better over time. I stamped the little backgrounds from the Coffee Break set so I could use them to paper piece the cup from You Are Perkfect. I added glossy accents and a twine bow to finish off my magnet. You could put a picture of your favorite java junkie in there! HA :) Be sure to head to Emma's Blog to see more 3D awesomeness!

Have a great day!

Thank You

Hello! I am taking the Kick Start class at Online Card Classes and I am SO INSPIRED from it daily! Today we were to challenge ourselves, so I did. I followed the color challenge from the current Hero Arts contest. I cut out the label shapes and the fern from the Hero Arts Silhouette store. I love that I have the stamp that matches the fern! :) I colored the cut out fern with crushed olive distress ink and stamped it with the Friend Definition stamp also with crushed olive distress ink. I love the subtle tone on tone look. I inked up the top label with ripe persimmon distress ink and stamped over it with the Friend Definition and that same ink.
For the background, I inked it up with seedless preserves ink, and stamped over it with the same ink and the Three Ferns Stamp from Hero Arts. I really love how this card turned out! I'm excited to try my hand at the Hero Arts contest again. :)

I hope you're having a great day!

EEK!

Hello! I had so much fun making this card! It's chock full of Hero Arts goodness. :) I used digital die cuts from the Hero Arts Silhouette store and Hero Arts stamps. I cut all the images out of white cardstock so I could use my distress inks to color them. First I cut out the cloud background. I used the negative cloud image for the background. and used the positive clouds for the strip behind my cutie monster dude. I stamped the cloud background with the Friend Definition stamp and inked it with pumice stone distress ink. I cut out the adorable monster dude from the Hero Arts Silhouette store twice so I could layer him. I stamped the Flower Dot Pattern on his body and inked over it with seedless preserves distress ink. I used ripe persimmon distress ink for the legs and horns. And I just happened to have some fun orange googlie eyes that matched. :)
I did tone on tone stamping with the Square Pattern background and mowed lawn distress ink for the grass. For my sentiment, I cut out the thought bubble from the Hero Arts Silhouette store. I white heat embossed EEK from the September 2012 set from PeachyKeenStamps. I inked over it with mowed lawn distress ink. I'm entering this in the current Hero Arts contest. :) Wish me luck ;)

Have a monsterific weekend!

MCT September Mini Release Blog Hop!

Hello! You should have arrived from Nancy's Blog...if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. Today I am showing a masking technique using the new Just Tags die set from MyCreativeTime. I started by cutting the tag out of the middle of a square piece of Post It craft paper {it's sticky}...love this stuff to use for making masks. This is going to end up being a sort of one layer card. :)
I free cut some of the Post It craft paper to make masks for snowy hills and added them over the negative space left by the tag...
Swirl on tumbled glass distress ink...
Then I added broken china around the edges and a little to the "window" edges...
I removed the hill masks and stamped the snowman from the It's A Magical Season set. Don't worry that it looks kinda crazy right now, there's a method to my madness. :) I white heat embossed the snow from the It's A magical Season . Make sure that you dry the distress ink before embossing or it'll stick where you do not want embossing powder. {mine did a little at the top}...but I'll fix it later...
And here's what it looks like after removing the square mask...
Here I added the tag mask over the scene I've been making to do some more stamping. I also masked off the blue edges with strips of Post It craft paper...
Peeled off the outer masks after stamping the snow from the It's A Magical Season set.
I added the black outlines while the mask was still on. Also I drew in the snowy hills...Still looking crazy, but it's coming right along....And here it is all finished....
I paper pieced the snowman from It's A Magical Season. I white heat embossed the sentiment which is also from the It's A Magical Season set
I used my sakura stardust pen to add sparkle to bits of the scene. To finish it off, I added a double twine bow and a sparkly snowflake over top. Got the twine here.  I really dig how this turned out! Looks like a few layers, but it isn't. :) And just for fun...here's my helper Miss Jinxy-Cedrika

Peachy Keen Blog Hop

Hello! You should have arrived from DoBea's blog...if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. For my card I started by stamping the Cloudy Day background with pumice stone distress ink onto patterned paper from the current Peachy Picks Kit. I stamped the You Whoooo Owl a few times on different patterned papers from the Peachy Picks Kit so I could paper piece it. For the moon bit, I stamped it on text paper from the Peachy Picks kit and colored it with mustard seed, scattered straw, and wild honey distress inks. I added my favorite rocky candy stickles to it for some sparkle...
See the sparkle? :) I stamped and cut out the "big" bats from the Nikkity Knack Cat Gang set {my namesake and personal favorite} I also popped them up. The little bats are from the Dress Me Ghost set. The sentiment is also the from the You Whoooo Owl set.

Wishing you comfort...

Hello and happy Monday to you! For my card today I spent a few hours painting with distress ink. I stamped this gorgeous Large Flower Background stamp from Hero Arts and white heat embossed it. I got my color palette inspiration from the current Hero Arts color challenge. For the flowers I used spiced marmalade and {believe it or not} aged mahogany.  My colors are more muted because I mixed my inks with perfect pearls and water. For the leaves and stems I used shabby shutters and crushed olive distress inks also mixed with perfect pearls and water. For the background I used antique linen and a little bit of worn lipstick to add a touch of pink. Here you can see the shine created from mixing my inks with perfect pearls and water...
It really is just beautiful in real life. I sure do love perfect pearls! I stamped the sentiment from the Floral Sentiments set from MyCreativeTime on vellum and white heat embossed it. To finish it off I added the butterflies from the 3 in 1 Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I added my favorite rocky candy stickles to them for some sparkle.

And before I go...a little enabling ;)

Distress inks and reinkers are on sale super cheap over at Blitsy! YEAH! I am so glad I signed up...you get insane deals on fabulous crafty things! Butterflies....

Good morning and happy Saturday to you! My love for Hero Arts background stamps continues to grow and today I used the Antique Writing background. This stamp is so pretty! I stamped it twice so I could cut out and pop up the butterflies. I used my ink blending tool and bundled sage and tumbled glass distress inks to ink the background. I colored the butterflies with bundled sage and tumbled glass distress markers. I love that distress colors are in marker form now too! :) I colored over the butterflies with my sakura stardust glitter pen for some serious sparkle...
Ahhh sparkly goodness! :) Oh, I forgot to say that flicked on some perfect pearls and water on the background to get a subtle splotchy look.

I hope you have a fabulous day!

Peachy Challenge 35 : Just Cards!

It's time for another Peachy Challenge! This time the challenge is to make a teacher themed card. For my card I started by stamping the What Time Is It background. Such a great background! I stamped the apple on the circle and then two more times on white cardstock so I could quickly color with distress ink and then paper piece it back together. I used festive berries and fired brick distress ink. The apple and the adorable face are from the August 2012 set. I used my sakura stardust pen to add sparkle to the glasses. I just love that pen!
See how the glasses sparkle?! So cool :) The sentiment is also from the August 2012 set. Hop on over to the Challenge Blog and play along with us!

Create a card using the theme Teacher, be it for or from, or anything in between!
We'll be awarding "TOP PEACH" to the player who uses their Peachy Keen Stamps this week and  our two runner ups will receive a spiffy badge to display on their blog!
