Thoughtful Thursday

Hello! Today is "Thoughtful Thursday" over at MyCreativeTime. The goal is to create a card with a thoughtful message. For my super simple card I used this sweet bear and star cut from the Baby Steps cricut cartridge. His face is from the Teddy Bear Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps.
The sentiment is from the Many Greetings set from MyCreativeTime. I put the bear/star on a wobble so it wiggles. :)

I hope you have a fabulous day!

Peachy Keen Challenge

Hiya! It's time for another PeachyKeen Challenge. The challenge is to make something 3D with metal on it. I chose to make a "3D" Easel card. :) I used the Teddy Bear Parade cricut cartridge for the cute lil' pirate bear. His face is from the Teddy Bear Assortment set.
I used a silver pen to make his "metal" sword and hook. I added glossy accents over top to make it shiny. {and more sturdy}
The sentiments are from the new Eye Sentiments Set
The inside greeting is also from the new Eye Sentiments Set. Pop over to the Challenge Blog and play along with us! :)

THE CHALLENGE

We'll be awarding "TOP PEACH" to the player who uses their Peachy Keen Stamps this week and  our two runner ups will receive a spiffy badge to display on their blog!

MCT Designer Challenge

Hello! The challenge this time is to incorporate a memento into your project. Well.....Do as I say, not as I do!!! LOL! I totally didn't do that part, but this card could be a memento for someone...right???!!! HA! Anyhoo...I used the cute little key from the Chunky Jar Accessories set to stamp my background. I started with a diagonal line from corner to corner, and drew in lines every half an inch. I stamped them with soft pool shadow ink from Hero Arts. I used my Stamp Press to get them lined up.
The sentiment is from the More of my Favorite Sayings set. I used the Stitched Scallop Heart Die for the heart.

Head over to Emma's Blog to play along! :)

p.s. I am obsessed with Hero Arts shadow ink currently, and since I only have one color, I keep using it on everything! Well, I went crazy and ordered 16 more colors! So, things are about to get really colorful up in here! ;)

MCT February Release Blog Hop!

Hello MCT friends!!! You should have arrived from Nancy's Blog. If not, head HERE to start at the beginning. I think it's so great to find multiple uses for dies, so that's what I did for my card today. I used the new Treat Slider Box Die to make my card base! Yep, a box into a card base :) I cut it out 3 times. Twice with kraft cardstock, and then my patterned paper for the front. I scored one of the kraft pieces right at the first indent in the scallops. Then I adhered the two kraft pieces together to make the card.
That pretty loopy scallop is also a part of the new Treat Slider Box Die. I heat embossed the sentiment from the new More Of My Favorite Sayings set. Then I added 2 of the Stitched Heart Layering Dies
You can see that by scoring at that first scallop indent, it will open nicely. :) I used "red tape" or "sticky strip" to adhere it.

Your next stop is the fabulous ROSY

MCT Sneak Peek #2

Hello! Today is day 2 of sneaks for the new release from MyCreativeTime. For my card today I used the new Fun Ticket Dies to create a mask to make my center panel. I cut the die out 3 times out of Post It paper to make my mask. I then sponged on distress inks in crushed olive, ripe persimmon, and peacock feathers. I also used those colors to make the splatters on the card base. I just squished out some ink on my craft sheet and spritzed it with water. Then I picked up the inks with a paint brush and tapped it over the paper to make the splatters.
I stamped the new Fun Tickets stamps over the masked and inked tickets. To finish it off, I added some glitter to the tickets with my Sakura stardust pen.

You Make My Heart Sing

Hiya! I had lots of fun playing with my PeachyKeenStamps and some super cute goodies from a great shop called Freckled Fawn to make this card. I started by stamping the fabulous Cloudy Day background on some text patterned paper from the Sunshine collection by My Mind's Eye. I love that background sooooo much! A total must have in my humble opinion. :) Then I stamped and paper pieced the adorable birdie from the Happy Bird And Phrases set. I used papers from that same collection, and made sure to use the music paper to match the sentiment that is also from that Happy Bird And Phrases set.
See those arrows? Cute, huh?! They're the Freckled Fawn Arrow Wood Chips. I glued some music patterned paper behind the big arrow. These would be fun to use your distress stains on too! :) Freckled Fawn has delightful embellishments! Pop over to their site HERE and take a peek!

I hope your day is just PEACHY! :)

1 Stamp 2 Ways

Hello! I am taking the Clean And Simple Card Making 2 class over at OnlineCardClasses. The "homework" for today was to use one stamp in three ways. Well, I only got 2 cards made, but I love them both! For this first card I first stamped the Friend Definition background by Hero Arts. I then clear heat embossed the Poppy Background by Hero Arts over that. This way the text shows through the clear embossing powder. I used memento markers to color the flowers.
Love all that shine from the embossing powder! :) And when something turns out so cool, I just can't bring myself to cover it up...so I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Year Round Sentiments set by Hero Arts on vellum. And here's my other card...
For this one, I went for a super clean and simple look. I die cut a circle out of post it paper to create a mask. Then I inked up the Poppy Background and stamped it in the circle. Peeled back the mask and BAM...a one layer card. :) I colored in the flowers with memento markers. Then I went over the blooms with my sakura stardust glitter pen. The sentiment is from the Hooray set by Hero Arts.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!

MCT Designer Challenge-Embossing

Hello! It's Nikki here and it's my turn to pick the Designer Challenge for MyCreativeTime. I have chosen embossing. Either wet or dry...or both! :) For my card I used 3 different embossing folders. I don't know about you, but I have TONS of embossing folders! I am ashamed to say that I rarely use them. Time to stop hoarding, and start using! {can I get an amen?!} Anyhoo, I started by embossing the bottom white layer with a folder from the Preserves set by Cuttlebug. Then I stamped the greeting from the Lots of Love set on a white strip of cardstock.
I used the Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder above the greeting, and the Quick Kuts Small Polka Dot folder below it. This way you get two different sizes of dots on one strip. To finish off the strip, I flipped it over and scored lines above and below the greeting. And as a final touch, I added the hearts that I cut with the Stitch Heart Layering dies. A super simple card, but with lots of fun texture. :)

Be sure to pop over to MyCreativeTime to play along with the challenge!

p.s. I wish I could have gotten better photo's, but it's yucky outside. :( Really looks nicer in real life.

PeachyKeen Sneaks!

Hello peachy fans! It's sneaky time again! This release is OUT OF THIS WORLD awesome! :) For this card I stamped the star trails from the new set called Happy Trails Spaceship 3 times. I stamped and paper pieced the adorable astronaut from the new February 2013 set over top. The super sweet face is also from the new February 2013 set and so is the sentiment.
I used my favorite Sakura stardust glitter pen to add sparkle to the stars.
For this card I stamped the new Star Galaxy Background. I colored it with markers in a rainbow. I also added some sparkle with the Sakura stardust glitter pen.
The sentiment is from the new February 2013 set from PeachyKeenStamps. I white heat embossed it.

Pop over to the PeachyKeen Blog to see more sneaks from this super fun release!

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. I hear there is some sort of sporting event happening today...I say stamping is a sport! :)
