Thinking Of You

Hello! The new challenge at Little Tangles is masking. Yay! I ♥ masking! :) I took a photo of my masking in progress...
Ahhh yummy rainbow colors. ;) I used the cloud image from the Just Thinking Of You set by Neat and Tangled to create masks to make my rainbow sky. Then I sponged on my rainbow of color. Before removing the masks I spritzed it with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister for some shine. I spritzed from high above for a subtle look.
I stamped the clouds from the Just Thinking Of You set with soft granite shadow ink in the areas I masked off. I really love how this looks! :)
The greeting is also from the Just Thinking Of You set by Neat And Tangled. I finished it off with my favorite Crystal Clear sequins from Neat And Tangled

I hope you're having a fabulous day!

You Rock

Hello! Today was the last day of Clean and Simple 3 class. :( But I am still doing my homework and playing along in the Little Tangles Challenge. The challenge is to make your envelope match your card. So, here's my card and envelope...

I started by masking off the edges of my card to make it one layer. I used the Sparkle and Shine set by Neat And Tangled to stamp all my stars and the greeting. I used a rainbow of shadow inks.
I really dig how it turned out. :) And here's the envelope...
I used the A Lot To Say stamp by Neat And Tangled to make a mask. Then I stamped all my stars...and then stamped the speech bubble. The lady is an old stamp from Hobby Lobby.

I hope you're having a great Friday!

Happy Weekend!

Thinking of You

Hello! Today I am playing along with the Little Tangles Challenge. The challenge is to continue the design from the outside of the card on the inside. Sooooo I made a window shaker. :)

I stamped the background using the On The Strip 2 set by Neat and Tangled. Then I stamped the speech bubble from the A Lot To Say set. I then cut out the middle of it by hand. I traced the opening onto my card base so the window goes all the way into the card. I stamped the greeting from the Just Thinking Of You set by Neat and Tangled. The little dots are also from that set.
See? You can see the greeting on the inside from the outside. :) I filled my shaker window with Crystal Clear, Royally Blue, Ocean Breeze, and Summer Sky sequins from Neat and Tangled

Have a great day!

Shine Bright

Hiya! I'm SUPER INSPIRED by the Clean and Simple 3 class at OnlineCardClasses! I made another card with inlaid die cuts. I used the 3 Stitched Star Dies from MyCreativeTime
I white heat embossed the greeting from the Sparkle And Shine set by Neat And Tangled

Missing You

Hello! I'm taking the Clean and Simple 3 class at OnlineCardClasses and this is my card for today. I'd say this one is super clean and simple, but it did take a while. I used the Wish You Were Here dies from Lawn Fawn to cut out and inlay the USA and the little heart. I used the On The Strip 2 set from Neat And Tangled to plaid stamp the USA with soft cantaloupe, fresh peach, and pale tomato Hero Arts shadow inks. This is the part that took a while. ;)
I added some sparkle to the heart with my sakura glitter pen  and then covered it with glossy accents. The greeting is from the Wish You Were Here set by Lawn Fawn

Hello Shaker Card

Well hello there bloggy buddies. :) Lookie! I made a shaker card...shocker! ;) I have gotten super inspired by the Insider class at OnlineCardClasses this week...and also wanted to play along in the Little Tangles color challenge.
I really love these colors together. Soft and pretty. I used the Stitched 3x4 Journal Die from MyCreativeTime to create my window through the card. I filled my shaker window with Lemon, Cotton Candy, and Crystal Clear sequins from Neat and Tangled. I stamped the "hello" from the Piles Of Smiles  set from MyCreativeTime with charcoal hero arts shadow ink. I stamped the "sending you sunshine" from the Everyday Sayings set from Hero Arts under it with Soft Granite shadow ink.
When the card is closed, the sequins cover the little sun surprise on the inside of the card. :) That sun is from an old MarketStreetStamps set that is no longer available, sorry.
See that sun peeking out at ya? tee hee. The face on the sun is from the July 2013 set from PeachyKeenStamps
When you open the card, the sequins rain down like sparkles from Heaven. HA! I ♥ sequins.

I hope you're having a FABULOUS weekend!

Eat Cake

Hello! I made this to play along in the Little Tangles Challenge. The theme is cake to celebrate Neat And Tangled's first birthday. Yay! Sooooo in love with their sequins! The greeting is a free digi on their challenge blog. I sized it and printed it out. Then I wanted to make a sequin cake to go with the greeting. I was going to use my cricut or silhouette, but decided it would be hard to perfectly line up the already printed greeting so.......... I just eyeballed it and cut out some "cake" rectangles with my trimmer and exacto knife. Super easy. And then the fun/relaxing part for me, gluing the sequins. I use glossy accents to glue them down. A little dab and a sequin...repeat. :)

Neat And Tangled Sequins used

P.S. Sorry for the awful photo. It's storming like crazy here. Anyone have a spare ark? ;)

Thoughtful Thursday

Hello! It's Thoughtful Thursday at MyCreativeTime. I made this card for Veronica {my MCT DT sister} She's going to be running a marathon soon. EEK! ;) Anyhoo... I used the Cricut Craft Room and the Sports Mania cricut cartridge to make the panel for my sequin creation. :)
The greeting is from the Life Is Good set from MyCreativeTime. I used Ocean Breeze and Summer Sky sequins from Neat And Tangled

Inspire Me Tuesday

No, this isn't a Downy add, it's Inspire Me Tuesday at MyCreativeTime! :) I was inspired while doing laundry. Isn't this fabric softener bottle pretty?! I really liked the pinks and orange, and thus this card was born...
I started by stamping and white heat embossing the Type Calendar. A cool way to get more use out of your calendar stamp! :) I quickly colored it with worn lipstick and spiced marmalade distress markers. Then I sprayed it half to death with a mixture of perfect pearls and water in a mini mister and let it dry. You end up with a sparkly watercolor look. I used the same inks and perfect pearls mixture to splatter my card base.
I cut a circle out of if with a die to create a shaker window. I heat embossed the greeting from the fabulous It's All About You set on vellum. I used vellum to make the window more subtle than using acetate. I filled the window with sequins from Neat And Tangled

Pop over to MyCreativeTime to see more "inspired by" projects.

p.s. If you're wondering, that fabric softener smells divine! :)

Smile...sequins! :)

Hiya! Here is my homework for Summer Card Camp 2 today. I used the Stitched Hexy Dies from MyCreativeTime to cut out my "windows". I then traced them onto another piece of cardstock so I'd know where to glue my sequins. And then it's just a matter of gluing the sequins down, my favorite part!  Soooooooo relaxing to me. Then I put a bunch of pop dots around the sequins to pop up the front panel so it sits level over them.
I white heat embossed the greeting from the Things I Love set from MyCreativeTime on vellum and put it behind one of the hexagons. I used Perfectly Purple, Lovely Lilac, Ocean Breeze, and Crystal Clear sequins from Neat And Tangled

Have a sequin-tastic day! ;)

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. I use glossy accents to glue down my sequins. A little dab...sequin...a little dab...sequin...

I thank my lucky stars for you!

Hello! Here is my homework for Summer Card Camp 2 today. I finally got to make a card tonight after 8 hours of a horrible migraine...boo! Anyhoo...I followed a color scheme and sketch from today, but flipped the sketch on its side. I used the Cricut Craft Room and my Baby Steps cartridge to cut out the star on the card front. Before making the shaker I stamped the stripes from the On The Strip 2 set from Neat And Tangled. I used soft pool and soft purple shadow inks and wisteria colorbox fluid chalk ink {darker purple}.
I made my shaker and stamped the acetate with that sweet face from the new July 2013 set from PeachyKeenStamps. The cool thing about stamping on acetate is that if you mess up you can just use stazon cleaner and try again. :) I filled the window with Crystal Clear, Perfectly Purple, Lovely Lilac, and Ocean Breeze sequins from Neat And Tangled.  The greeting is from the Year Round Sentiments set by Hero Arts.
I also put some beads in the shaker window with the sequins.

If being addicted to sequins is wrong, I don't wanna be right. ;)

Lookin' Good

Hello! Today is the start of the 2nd week of Summer Card Camp 2. I followed the color scheme for this week and used one of the sketches as a starting point. I picked up the Hey Boy and Hey Girl 6x6 pads by Basic Grey at Joann yesterday... the Hey Boy collection was perfect for our color combo this week! Yay! Anyhoo, I used the numbers from the new Stitched 4x6 Journal Die to die cut my "40" for my shaker window. I glued the die cut panel over my acetate, and then glued the acetate piece under the front panel.
I filled the shaker window with sequins from Neat And Tangled. That cool little button that says "lookin' good" is also from the Hey Boy collection by Basic Grey.
I really like how this turned out. {which is good because it took me all day, HA} It's for my brother who will be hitting the big 40 soon. :)

Thinking Of You Shaker

Hello! I got my new On The Strip stamp set from Neat And Tangled in the mail yesterday. It's super awesome! And it's even extra awesome cuz I won it from the Little Tangles challenge. :) Yay! I started by stamping the talk bubble from A Lot To Say on Post-It paper to make a mask. I trimmed around it leaving a border. I adhered it to my cardstock, and then stamped the heart stripes from On The Strip over it. I stamped them with Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, and Soft Cantaloupe Hero Arts Shadow Inks. After I had them stamped I peeled up the mask. Then I stamped the talk bubble from A Lot To Say in the masked area. And then I cut out my window for the shaker.
I stamped the greeting from the Just Thinking Of You set with Charcoal Hero Arts Shadow Ink. Then I filled my window with Pretty Pretty Pink, Just Peachy, and Tangerine sequins.

I made this for the new Little Tangles challenge which is to use washi tape. But, believe it or not, I only have one roll {and I can't find it}... So I used this stamp set because it's washi-ish. :)

Thrifty Thursday "Masking/Shaker"

Hello! Today is Thrifty Thursday at MyCreativeTime. We are making projects with circles today, and I snapped a couple pictures to show you how my card came about. I started by cutting circles out of Post-It craft paper to make my own mask. This way you can make circular stamped shapes using square stamps. Cool, right?! I stamped the houndstooth pattern from the Build A Banner set with Soft Granite shadow ink over the biggest circles. I stamped the burlap pattern also from the Build A Banner set with Tide Pool shadow ink over the medium circles. And I used the polka dot pattern from the Coffee Break set to stamp over the little circles with Butter Bar shadow ink. Looks a mess now, but the magic happens when you peel the mask off...
See! Sooooo fun! I LOVE MASKING!!! And here is my card...
I added some stamped black rings to the card front using the Vintage Label set. I can't seem to stop making shaker cards. It's a sickness. ;) Anyhoo, I stamped the greeting from the Thank You Hugs set with staz-on ink on the acetate window. I filled my shaker with sequins from Neat And Tangled. I also scattered some on the card front. :)
I totally dig this card! :)
I hope you'll pop over to MyCreativeTime to see the other DT creations!

Have a splendid day!

Thinking of You Shaker Card :)

Hello! My shaker/sequin obsession continues to grow. :) I started by stamping the clouds for the background using the super cute Just Thinking Of You set from Neat And Tangled. I stamped them with soft granite shadow ink by Hero Arts. Then I stamped the cloud where I wanted my window, and cut it out by hand. Then I stamped the cloud with staz-on ink on my acetate piece for the window. I glued my window into place with glossy accents. And then I filled up my shaker with sequins. I used snow white,  ocean breeze, summer sky, and crystal clear sequins from Neat And Tangled
The greeting is also from the Just Thinking Of You set from Neat And Tangled. As a finishing touch, I added some more Crystal Clear sequins to the front of the card.

I hope you're not getting sick of sequins! :)

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. Here's a tip for stamping on acetate. You're most likely to mess up your stamping because it wiggles, so tape it down to your work surface, and then stamp on it. OH, and a Fiskars Stamp Press is your friend! Seriously! You NEED one. :)

Hello Handsome

Hiya! Happy Saturday peeps. :) I decided to make a masculine version of the card I made yesterday. Wait, what? A masculine card with sequins on it??? Well, the sequins are in masculine colors, so it counts. Right? HA! I stamped the talk bubble from the set called A Lot To Say from Neat And Tangled. I made double rows with Shamrock and Royally Blue sequins.
The greeting is from Year Round Sentiments by Hero Arts. I'm also entering this in the Little Tangles challenge. :)
