I used the new January 2018 set for the lion and the greeting. I colored everything with my Copic markers. How cute is that lion??! EEK!

This sweet hippo is also in the new January 2018 set. This card came together in no time! Just colored a quick scene with copics, and it's done! The greeting is also from the January 2018 set.

Ok, I love how this card turned out, and it was super easy! I inked the background quickly with distress inks. I added foliage cut with my Cricut. I colored everything with my Copics. Can you even believe how cute that tiger is?! Swoon.

I am obsessed with birds, so I'm smitten with this toucan! I colored him with my Copics. I inked the background quickly with distress inks. Little effort, big impact! Yay, color! The toucan and greeting are from the new January 2018 set.

In addition to the stamps, this month there is a release of ridiculously cute Foodie SVGs! And to go with all of those cute SVGs.... Three stamp sets full of glorious punny greetings! Fun fact, I've never met a pun I didn't like. ;)  The greeting on this card is from the Nikki's Breakfast Punnies set.

MCT Whatever Wednesday

Hello! It's Whatever Wednesday at MyCreativeTime! Today I used the awesome Pretty Bold Numbers Dies to create my background. I used the numbers to emboss "60" into the background by running it through my machine with the Spellbinders tan embossing mat. I then watercolored over it to match my image. {cut from the Ole cartridge with my Cricut and colored with Copics}

You can kind of see it better here. Sorry, it is hard to get a good photo of. It's really cool in real life! Super easy, and totally custom!

Pop over to MyCreativeTime to see more projects.

Holy Guacamole!

Hiya! Sharing a card made for a custom order. I used my Cricut Explore to make this super fun 40th birthday card. I love how the hole in the avocado peeks to the inside. The avocado is from a Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons svg set.

That face is the cutest, and it's from the Beginner Happy Family Emoji Face Assortment set by PeachyKeenStamps. I used my Copics to get a blend on the 4 to match the hat.

I used the Claire's ABC's set by Lawn Fawn for the greeting.

I hope you're having a great week.

He liked it, so he put a ring on it

Hiya! Here's the engagement card I made for my friend Beth, who just got engaged! YAY! :) I finally used the Print Then Cut feature of my Cricut Explore machine. I cut the panel with the custom greeting on it using a font in my computer...and it was actually super easy. WOOT! Then my all time favorite part, gluing on the sequins. So therapeutic. :)

I hope you're having a nice Friday night.

Just keep swimming...

Hello! I hope you're having a great week. For my card today I used this cute Mermaid SVG from MissKateCuttables. I cut her out of white cardstock with my Cricut Explore. I cut her out of white so I could color her with my Copics. After I colored her tail I went over it with squiggles with my lightest BV color to make "scales"...and then I also added rock candy stickles to her tail. I also added rock candy stickles to her top and coated that with glossy accents. I gave her a bow, and added wink of stella to that. Her incredibly sweet face is from the In The Garden 2 Face Assortment by PeachyKeenStamps. The greeting is from the Beach Babies Digi set by PeachyKeenStamps. She is on a Wobble so she wiggles and swims. :) I've used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies, Stitched Oval Dies, and the Vintage Labels Dies all by MyCreativeTime

Boombox Shaker Card

Hiya! Happy Friday to you! This is the birthday card I made for my brother. :) I used a chevron stencil and Hero Arts Shadow inks in tide pool, orange soda, butter bar, soft granite, and charcoal to make the patterned paper. I made the boombox shaker using the Groovy Times Cricut cartridge. I did some "contour hiding" so I could make room to hide my foam tape. I cut all the pieces from white and inked them with the same colors I used for the patterned paper. I filled the shaker with Martha Stewart stars glitter. I used the Label Font stamp set from MyCreativeTime to make my greeting.

OH one last thing...SALE ALERT! :)

Pet Sympathy

Today's class at OnlineCardClasses was about using border dies. Instead of masking with border dies, I just cut strips so I could make stripes. I cut the paw with my Cricut Explore and the Life's A Party cartridge. Then my favorite part as usual...gluing my sequins. :)

Simple St. Patrick's Day Cards

Hello! I made some simple St. Patrick's Day cards using the Spring Holiday Cards Cricut cartridge and my Cricut Explore machine. I used the Lucky Day Shamrock background from PeachyKeenStamps on all the card fronts. That is a great background that you should totally get before it's gone forever! :) I also used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More dies from MyCreativeTime on all the cut panels to add just a little detail. Still super quick!
Love that subtle background. You can see it better in real life. Promise. ;)
And this last one just cracks me up! :) I sent this one to my Father In Law. :)

I hope you're having a fabulous Sunday!

Sequin Seahorse

Hello! I am in absolute LOVE with the brand new Cricut Design Space App for iPad! It's awesome and FREE! Yay! It is beyond simple to use as well. For my first card made using the Cricut Design Space App, I bought this pretty seahorse image from the Anna Griffin Summer Soirees cartridge. OH and buying that image from my iPad was incredibly simple! Anyhoo, I attached the seahorse image to a rectangle so I could use the negative space. And they my favorite part, gluing the sequins.
As usual, I used glossy accents to glue down the sequins. Eek! I love this pretty seahorse. And I seriously super love the new Cricut Design Space App! So fire up your iPad and head to the App Store. :)

I'm really excited to watch the launch of the new Cricut Explore Air machine on HSN tonight at Midnight Eastern. {9 Pacific time} A lot of folks are having a cow about Cricut releasing another new machine...but there's no need to birth bovines! ;) The improvement on the Cricut Explore Air is built in wireless capabilities. So, if you've already got the original Cricut Explore machine, you just need to snag yourself a blue tooth adapter. Easy peasy.

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. Also. the new App sorta reminds me of having a Gypsy. Except it's about a bajillion times awesomererer. :)

Love U

Hello! Today's Clean And Simple 4 class at OnlineCardClasses was all about inking. So, I decided to get super inky. ;) I also used my Cricut Explore to create a mask for the first time! Fun stuff! I cut this image from the Valentine's Day cartridge out of Post-It Craft Paper. I put the dial on the Explore on the cardstock setting, and it cut like a dream. I started by inking up the panel with spun sugar and worn lipstick Distress inks. Then I put the mask on.
I sprayed picked raspberry distress ink in a mini mister over it. And then I flicked on some of that ink. Then I sprayed it with Gold Lame Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray. It looks SO COOL in real life. Basically impossible to get a good picture of all the shine.
After I took off the mask, I also flicked on some gold color shine. This card looks different depending on how the light catches it. :)

Happy Friday! I hope you have an awesome weekend!

MCT Inspiration Wednesday

Hiya! It's Inspiration Wednesday at MyCreativeTime. I guess my card was inspired by my desire to play with my Cricut Explore. ;) I bought the Everyday Pop Up Cards cartridge a LONG time ago...specifically for this hot air balloon! I love how it looks with Valentinesy papers. I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies from MyCreativeTime for the card base and panel.
I stamped the Cartoon Cloud Background from MyCreativeTime on the card base and greeting strip.
The greeting is from the Puffy Hearts Just For You set from MyCreativeTime. I put the hot air balloon on a wobble, so it wiggles. :)

MCT Trending Now Thursday

Hello! It's Trending Now Thursday at MyCreativeTime. Today we are exploring the Wood and Lace trend. For my card, I stuck to just wood. :) I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies for my card base and layer. I stamped the Grainy Wood Background on the smaller layer. I used the Alpha Pack to stamp "wood", and the rest of the greeting is from the 100% Sweetness set. I masked off the first word so I could customize it.
My little beaver was cut from the Oh Canada Cricut Cartridge. :) I gave him a heart from the Stitched Sweethearts and XOXO dies. Oh, and Mr. Beaver is on a circle from the Bunch Of Fun Circles dies.

I can't conseal how I feel ;)

Hiya bloggy friends! :) For my punny Valentine today, I cut the seal from the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge. I made his face with 2 sets from PeachyKeenStamps, The Happy Penguin Couples Assortment for his eye, and The Moodies 1 1/8 set for the mouth. I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies from MyCreativeTime for the panel and patterned paper layer on it. I also used the Fun Stitches Edges Dies from MyCreativeTime for the scalloped border.
I used the Alpha Pack from MyCreativeTime to stamp my punny greeting. :) I stamped SEAL in darker gray to make it stand out more. I also went over the letters with a sakura glitter pen for sparkle. I added wink of stella clear glitter marker to the ball and his hat.

I hope you're having a great week thus far! Just a heads up...tonight at midnight Eastern starts 24 hour craft day on HSN. :)

Merry Christmas

Hello! I hope you're having a wonderful Christmastime! My hubby is a huge Star Wars fan, so I used my Cricut Explore and the Design Space program to make him a Vader Reindeer card. HA! I found the Vader image on google, and cleaned it up in Design Space. I used the Photo Booth Props Cricut Cartridge for the antlers.
I welded the antlers to the Vader head...and added a glittery glossy accent covered nose. :) The greeting is from the Boughs Of Holly set from MyCreativeTime. There ya have it. It's not perfect, but my hubby will love it. :)

I hope Santa is good to you!

Hi Buddy! My own SVG with the Cricut Explore

Hello! I am SOOOOO happy with this card! I used my Cricut Explore and Design Space to make my own SVG from an image. I've always loved Mr. Narwhal from Elf, so I made my own version of him using a photo that I found on google. I used the Explore to cut out the shape I wanted, and then I drew in the lines to make my own "stamp". I used the Kawaii Face Assortment for his eye, and the Squee Face Assortment for his mouth. Both awesome sets from PeachyKeenStamps. I colored him with my Prismacolor colored pencils and blended out with OMS/gamsol. I went over his eye and eyebrow with a black sakura glaze pen.
I colored in his horn {which is really a tooth that only male narwhal's have} with a wink of stella clear glitter marker...and then added glossy accents to it. I inked the sky with tumbled glass distress ink, and added snow with my sakura white gel pen. Mr. Narwhal's line in Elf is, "Bye Buddy. Hope you find your Dad."....but I made this a hi card. I used the Claire's ABC's set from Lawn Fawn to make the greeting. I also added wink of stella to the snowy iceberg in front of Mr. Narwhal. :)

Have your ELF a merry little Christmas

Hiya! This little Buddy from Elf svg is another one I got from doing a blog hop a little bit ago. Sorry, the file is no longer available. I used my pretty new Cricut Explore to cut him out. I hid the face in Design Space so I could give him a face with the Wide Eyed Kids 1 1/8 set from PeachyKeenStamps
Little baby Buddy is so cute. ;) The greeting is from the Oh By Golly set from PeachyKeenStamps...which is super awesome and HUGE and you totally need it. There is still time to take advantage of the killer SALE at PeachyKeenStamps. ;) OH...almost forgot...I used the fabulous Candy Stripe Background stamp from PeachyKeenStamps for my card base.

Warm Winter Wishes, Addie

Hello. There is a little girl named Addie, who is likely celebrating her last Christmas. Her family thought it would be nice for her to get a lifetime of Christmas cards. You can read about her story HERE, and like her Facebook page HERE. I encourage you to make her a card. :)
For my card for her, I've used my brand new Cricut Explore to cut the adorable Faceless Penguins Peachy Pieces SVG from PeachyKeenStamps. You get 2 cutie pie penguins in the set. I gave miss penguin her sweet face with the Happy Penguin Couples 1 1/8 set from PeachyKeenStamps.
I used the Cableknit Background from PeachyKeenStamps on her hat. I inked the hat with bubble gum Hero Arts shadow ink, and then stamped the background with the same ink. I used passion flower Hero Arts shadow ink for the purple bits. I added wink of stella to the purple bits as well. The greeting is from the Holiday Sentiments set by PeachyKeenStamps. And I made her name with the Alpha Pack set from MyCreativeTime. Miss penguin is on a WOBBLE so she wiggles. :)

Cricut Explore vs. Cricut Expression Cut Comparison

Hello! It's here, IT'S HERE!!! :) Here is the picture I snapped with my phone last night when I took my new Cricut Explore out of the box. :) I knew that when I got the machine, I wanted to do some comparison cuts with it and my trusty old Cricut Expression. I was always disappointed in the way a circle and a scalloped circle cut with my Expression, so I knew that is what I would compare. I also compared an intricate scalloped circle design. I used some of THIS cardstock from Walmart to really put both machines to the test with not so great cardstock. Here I cut this design from the Cindy Loo cricut cartridge...
I cut them both at the same size {4 inches}, but the Explore did a much better job. The Cricut Explore is a much more detailed cut. Look at the little heart on the bird's head. The scallop around the outside is more even. What I found with all the cuts I made, is that the Explore actually cuts true to size. The Expression cuts everything just a little bigger than the actual size selected. {No this wasn't a sizing/real dial size mistake by me...I know my way around a Cricut} ;)
I used the Cricut Craft Room Basics cartridge for my circle and scalloped circles cuts. I cut the circle at 2 inches with both machines. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the Expression cuts a wonky circle. And again, it's bigger than the circle the Explore cut.
Here is where you can really see the difference! I cut both at 2.25 inches. Look how perfectly the Explore cut! Again, the Expression's cut is wonky, and those scallops look terrible.

In addition to being extremely impressed with how the Explore cuts, I am in LOVE with the Design Space program you use with it. It is incredibly simple to use. And the best part??? You can cut SVG's with it! I've already loaded all my SVG's into Design Space, and if I can do that, you KNOW it's incredibly simple! ;)

So there it is. My 2 cents on the new Cricut Explore. And if you feel the need to get one yourself, it's on sale again for $199 HERE at Walmart. :) {that's where I got mine}
