You're my cup of Cocoa *MPS Sunday Challenge*

Hello and happy Sunday all! Since Robyn (my pink stamper) is snowed/iced in she posted another challenge. FUN! The challenge is to make something and GIVE IT AWAY...I am sending this card to my Nana to lift her spirits, as it is coming up on a month since my dear Papa went home to God.

Here are the details...

This is a 4x4 card. (this way fits in an A2 envie with no extra postage!). I cut the tag and shadow from Winter Woodland at 3 inches. I used the Hot Cocoa stamp set from peachykeenstamps.com to stamp my lil' mug of cocoa which can be purchased HERE I added some heart stickers to the steam lines. Finally I used my paper piercer to poke a hole in the top of my card, and at the top of my tag. I then ran my ribbon up through the holes from the inside of the card and tied a bow. Well, that's it, SUPER SIMPLE! Oh, all paper is from the same stack as yesterday's card. ;o)

HAVE A GREAT NIGHT!!! ooooh who else will be watching the Grammy's tonight???? I LOVE MUSIC!!!!

THIS CARD IS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE---> Secure Paypal sale on my sidebar ------UPDATE----SOLD ;o)

the card will come with an A2 envelope, and ship to you in a cardboard mailer for protection.

HUGS-Nikki

My Pink Stamper Challenge #1

Hi! Here is my take on the first challenge. The challenge was to make something using your favorite color (mine is baby blue *robots*) and black. I wanted to keep this card super duper simple to showcase the ADORABLE robot paper. I got this paper in a K and Company stack at Michaels the other day. LOVE THAT STACK! So, here's my card. I hope you like it! ;O)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone! Let's all take a BIG breath and say.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBBIE (a.k.a. Nikki's Mama)!!!! This card is at her house, but she isn't! LOL So, since she is whoopin' it up in Mexico I figured I'd post it here so she can see it.
All papers are from DCWV. The ribbon is from American Crafts. The stamp is (GASP, not Peachy Keen) from Pink Cat Studio...I HOARD their kitty stamps! Stamp is colored with my prismacolor pencils and OMS. Then I went over the flowers and butterflies with my Sakura glitter pen.
I hope your Saturday is WONDERFUL so far! And, one more time, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
big hugs, Nikki :o)

Peachy Keen Challenge 21

It's challenge time again! Challenge 21 is a little different, and there is a new judging "twist". The twist is that this challenge will be judged (not a random winner) by Kathy and the design team! I am REALLY looking forward to seeing all the wonderful projects that are entered, so check out the recipe for this challenge and GET CRAFTY!

Challenge Recipe

-Project can be in any format (with the exception of digital art, hybrid projects are totally fine)
-Must contain a vintage item, or be inspired by something vintage. Vintage item examples...an old valentine (like mine!), old love letter, old button, aged photo, old postcard..............
-Must contain at least one stamped image.

We will be judging projects based on the following
-interpretation
-quality of work
-original creativity of the project

phew, there...now head on over to the PKS Challenge Blog and join in on all the FUN!

Now I will explain some of the details of my project for this challenge...I "googled" vintage valentine and searched until I found this ADORABLE image, seriously, I just LOVE it! I double matted the image and then rounded the corners with the small side of my new We R Memory Keepers corner chomper (I highly recommend it). I punched the lace border with the Martha Stewart doily lace punch. I then layered ribbon on top of that, and then stapled ric rak (however you spell it LOL) on top of the ribbon. I cut the swirls with my Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and added bling to them. And lastly I pop dotted my stamped apples from the Faceless Fruit set that I gave faces using the Everyday Character Face Assortment. All the papers used are from the Basic Grey "cupcake" collection.

OH MY GOSH I almost forgot to tell you what the PRIZE is!!! The prize is a 25 dollar gift code to Peachy Keen Stamps!!! How AWESOME is that??!

Have a SCRAPTASTIC day!!!

Goodie Bags for my Sailor and his fellow Sailors

HELLO!!!! ok, so i went a TAD overboard on these goodie bags...I HAVE SLIGHT OCD! LOL...for some reason i got it in my head that it would be fun to wrap Hershey Nuggets to make them look festive (the first 100 or so were fun)...they DID turn out cute and it's super EASY to do...just a 1 inch by 3.25 inch strip of paper wrapped around the candy....for the labels on the 50+ bags for some of my husbands shipmates i used my Plantin Schoolbook cricut cartridge to cut the heart labels to stamp on....here's how i did it....End Caps, then heart, then four spaces (to leave blank room for the stamping), then shift heart (to get the right end cap)....i then ran them through my cuttlebug in a QuicKutz polka dots embossing folder (yep, works just fine!)
i left the 50+ bags pretty plain, but i wanted to make my sweet sailor's goodie bag fancy ;o) just folded paper over and stapled it...then covered that with a strip of patterned paper...added lace and a bow....the heart with my stamped image ($1.00 at Michaels) is cut at 3 inches on blackout from the SweetHearts cricut cartridge.........after the picture was taken i added diamond stickles to the bee's wings
HAVE A FABULOUS WEEK!!!!

Spinner Pinwheel Cards

HI! ok, so i hate to toot my own horn but BEEP BEEP!!! LOL i am THRILLED with how these turned out! alright lets get down to the details...first i cut the cards with my Wild Card cartridge (page 51) on blackout at 5.25 inches...then cut the liners (the circle that spins inside)...i then CAREFULLY stamped my images through the windows making sure not to get ink on the front of the cards...i then colored in my aliens with prismacolor pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits..........i cut the cute sparkly aliens out with my Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge(page 65) at 3.25 inches out of glitter paper...then white gel pen faux stitched around them...added googly eyes...the balloon is also from EDPD (page 43)
you can see in the second card how the little blue alien is "peeking" out...there are 5 total aliens that you can see when you spin the wheel...........all papers are DCWV
have a GREAT day!

p.s. when i have what i consider to be a good idea i like to do a few similar cards...plus, it's a good use of cardstock ;o)

Something to ROAR about ;o)

hello! i made these two cards to hold REALLY LATE gift cards for my Nephew's...all the papers are from the Archaic collection by Basic Grey...i feel like i have "cheated" on Kathy (PKS) LOL since these stamps ARE NOT peachy keen GASP!!!!!! hahahahaha...anyhoo i cut the rounded squares out with my Mini Monograms cricut cartridge at 2 inches...then just stamped and colored them in...then finally inked everything half to death! wanna know what i use to ink the edges??? .......foam paint brushes with handles!!! super cheap and keep your fingers a lil' less inky!
oh, DUH the giftcard part....*TIP* i used GLUE DOTS to affix the gift cards to the inside...they're just like the gooey stuff that holds the gift cards to the original packaging! ;o)
well...HAVE A GREAT DAY!!! i'm back off to my scrap zone to CREATE!

oooooh no post of mine would be complete without a "shout out" to http://peachykeenstamps.com/ .....on my Navy ATC i used the small polka dot stamp and tim holtz embossing ink...then Ultra Thick Embossing enamel in clear...then used tim holtz inks Faded Jeans and Fired Brick...blended with the tim holtz blending tool...and voila! i really like the look.
