With Sympathy,,,,,,,and a WINNER

Hello! Here is a picture tutorial for you on how to create your own background paper with your die cuts and distress inks. Here I used the Ornate Dragonfly die. I cut my dragonflies out of Post It Craft paper which is adhesive backed and just perfect for this technique. Ink up your sponge applicator tool and pounce the ink on. Do not swirl it on or you will lift up the "masks" you've stuck down.

Here it is after applying the inks...

Starting to peel up the masks to reveal the "magic" ;)

Here I inked up a white dragonfly, and then sprayed it with perfect pearls mixed with water in a mini mister. Makes a super pretty shiny effect! And here is my finished card...

Here you can see the shine a little better...

Ok, I hope you likey! ;)

♥ Nikki ♥

OH...the sentiment is from the Sympathy set from PinkByDesign.

And my WINNER from Emma's Blog Hop is...

Julia...Julia said...I can definilty see vintage in that first card. It's beautiful on camera, and I'm sure even more beautiful in real life! Thanks for sharing

Ok Julia...you are now enterered for the grand prize of all of Emma's new release...BUT you do win her exclusive 2 stamp set!!! YEAH! I'll give Emma your email! :)

Emma's Blog Hop

Hiya! We are hoppin' to show off Emma's newest stamp release! I used the My One & Only set from both of my cards. The above card really looks vintagey and cool in real life, but will NOT show on camera! I tone on tone stamped with the Vintage Wallpaper stamp from MarketStreetStamps.com and then misted with perfect pearls over the top. I grunged up my lace and ribbon with distress ink in black soot. I thought the banner and the sentiment looked so cool, I made it my focal image. My next card...

So, this stamp set SCREAMS VAMPIRES to me!!! So I just had to bust out my Edward stamp! I colored him with my prismacolor pencils and then distressed him with distress ink in pumice stone. Oh, Edward is a stamp from TheGreetingFarm. Ok, your next stop is ABBY! Be sure to leave a comment on ALL blogs for your chance to win all FOUR new sets from Emma...AND an exclusive stamp too!!!

Fashionista...another Market Street Stamps sneak

Hiya! Here is another sneak for ya! I used the Zebra Print background stamp from MarketStreetStamps  for this card. {there might be other sneaks on this card too ☺}  I used a pretty dry staz-on ink pad to get a more "weathered" look. I wanted my kraft cardstock to show thorough. You know I can't ever get enough kraft!
Ok! Hop over to the Market Street Stamps BLOG to see the other designers awesome work!

***have you gotten up and done your best supermodel walk???***

Hehehe ♫ Supermodel...work...turn to the left.....♫

Birthday Wishes

My new Sew Easy tool that I ordered from HSN came the other day and here is the first card I've made with it. Since my beloved PaperTreyInk Kraft cardstock is SUPER thick I did have to re poke the holes, but it was still easy! I used twine from The Twinery for my stitching. The card base is from Lacy Labels and the bird is from Cindy Loo. The sentiment is from PaperTreyInk.com.

***TIP ALERT***
Have a Sew Easy? Grab it and shake it...Hear that??? That's the needle that comes with it! Hehehe Pop the top open to get it out. It's blunt so you won't stab your fingers while gettin' your stitch on. ;)

I'll be back tonight with another sneak for MarketStreetStamps.com

Mushroom card with HAPPY accident!!!

Hiya peeps! I have waited to post this because I didn't see this die in the store over at TheScrappingCottage...and well, it's still not there...I guess it's sold out? Anyhoo, I'll explain anyway. ☺ The mushroom is from the Mushrooms and Flowers die {which disappeared hehe}.

OK ONTO THE HAPPY ACCIDENT!  See those intricate borders on the sides? Well I made those by TOTAL ACCIDENT, but I now know what I did so I can share with you! YEAH! Ok...go grab your Double Loops border punch by Martha Stewart...it's ok, I'll wait for ya  ♫ Final Jeopardy Music ♫   Ok, now cut a one inch strip of paper and punch down one side....here comes the MAGIC bit...flip it over and punch down the other side!!! Now, this takes a little trial and error to get it to line up just right, so practice with scrap or computer paper so you don't waste any pretty paper. ☺

Doesn't it turn out SO PRETTY??!!! I ♥ happy accidents!!!

Golden fun with Market Street Stamps

I'm here again with 3 cards using the GORGEOUS Vintage Wallpaper stamp from Market Street Stamps. I stamped it twice and got 3 cards out of it. I stamped with distress embossing ink and dusted with perfect pearls in gold. I am in LOVE with perfect pearls!!! I used them for all the elements of my cards...all of the flowers I used started out as plain white primas that I "painted" with distress ink and perfect pearls. Sentiment on this card is from the Faith set from PinkByDesign.

All of the shine kind of stunned my camera so I apologize for the photos..Looks WAY cool in real life!

The heart is from the sweethearts cricut cartridge...This card really killed my camera! LOL Sentiment on this card is from the Here Comes The Bride set from PinkByDesign.

And here is the last card...

Nothing like getting started early on Mom's day cards! Sentiment from the Our Mothers set from PinkByDesign.

Ok, I hope you liked my cards...AND I hope I enabled/inspired you to try perfect pearls!

♥ Nikki ♥

PinkByDesign Funness!!! ☺

Hiya! Happy Friday!!! Today is my design team day for PinkCricut. For my set of cards I used the same background stamp and different techniques. The stamp I used for all 4 cards is the Daisy background stamp. For all of them I stamped the image with distress embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used the white cardstock from PaperTreyInk because it's nice and thick and can take a crafty beating! ;) For this orange one, I used my sponge applicator and Distress ink in Spiced Marmalade. And for the centers, I mixed up a little Scattered Straw distress ink with water and perfect pearls in the pearl color. Easy Peasy!

The "Aloha" sentiment is from the Aloha set. And this next card uses that sentiment as well, but a different techinique. For this one I used Broken China distress ink and spritzed on some water in a mini mister to soften the look. The centers are made with water and perfect pearls {have I sold you on perfect pearls yet?} ☺

I also mixed perfect pearls in the pearl color in one mini mister and spritzed at the end for shine...

For this next card, the sentiment comes from an unlikely set proving that Sarah's stamps are most definitely versatile!!! The sentiment is from the set called Tool Time. {I'm doing the Tim Taylor grunt...hehe}

I used distress ink in Shabby Shutters for this one. Also spritzed with perfect pearl mist...

And for this last card, I made my own "paint". I squished some distress ink in Dusty Concord onto my craft mat {non-stick of course}. I then squirted it with some water in a mini mister and added some perfect pearls to make customized "paint" that is pearly and awesome!!!! ☺ Pictures really don't do it justice, but here goes...

The sentiment is from the Our Mothers set. You can see the shine more here....

I know it looks kinda messy here, but I swear it looks awesome in real life!!! Ok...phew!!!! That's it! Head over to Pink Cricut to see what the rest of the awesome design team made!!!

SORRY FOR THE CRAZY LONG POST!!!

Throwback Thursday

Hiya Peeps! It's Throwback Thursday time again....this time we can use ANY older cartridge, but you must include green somewhere on your project. ;) I used the Camp Out cartridge for my fish. Talk about "throwback" I have NEVER used this cartridge!!! ☺ The sentiment is from Emma's adorable set called You're My Best Buddy. I got my inspiration for this card from a rerun of the Soprano's. When Tony sees the Billy Big Mouth Bass singing "take me to the river".
I white embossed Emma's sentiment over the cool Distressed Wood stamp from PinkByDesign. COOL! Okie dokie...Have a GREAT day...I can't wait to see what YOU make....head over to Emma's Blog to link up your awesome projects!!!!

Nurse Emma...at your service ;)

Giggle giggle. Hehehehe...This is the card I made and sent to Emma's hubby Aaron. ☺ "Emma" is from the Once Upon A Princess cartridge. Her candy striper dress is actually from Mrs. Claus on the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. The shirt is from Everyday Paper Dolls. Her nurse hat is from Everyday Paper Dolls too.

I used my dymo label maker and clear tape to make her nurse tag. ☺ Her face is, of course,  from the Princess Face Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps.com. Otay...I'm off to get inky! :)

Nobody Nose me like you

Hehehe I hope you're giggling...cuz I can't look at this card without giggling! HA This card was born as soon as I saw this sentiment from the Animated Greetings set from PinkByDesign. This funny birdy immediately popped into my head. ☺ The bird is from 3 Birds on Parade and the card base is from Smiley Cards.

you make me happy......

Hello! For my cards today I used the adorable Mrs. Gnome die. SO CUTE!!! I traced the face and hand cut two so I could give them PeachyKeen faces. :) The face is from the Happy Lashes set. This cards sentiment is from Emma's Turn That Frown Upside Down set. Since I had the pieces cut from two patterned papers...I just made her over again and switched up her dress n stuff....

The sentiment on this card is from the Animated Greetings set from PinkByDesign. The patterned paper I used is from the Hippie Chick mat stack by DCWV...which I love and think I need to get another one! :)

Superman Cards :)

Hello! Here are two uber simple cards I made with my new Superman cricut cartridge. {Thanks E-money!} For this first one, I used Emma's You're My Best Buddy stamp set. Super cute, huh?! :)
And for this next card I used the new Our Kids set from PinkByDesign.

I couldn't get good photo's of this one for some reason...Anyhoo...I stamped the sentiment 3 times and white embossed it.

The Superman logo on both cards are on action wobbles so they wiggle. :) I have to share that my hubs was totally thrilled with these cards...LOL...Finally, a craft related thing he can get into! HAHAHA He actually asked me if I could make him a "sticker" for him to put on his computer. ☺ Ok, I'm off to finish my card for tomorrow! Have a GREAT day!!!!
