Just a note

Hello! Nikki here with a card today. I used the sweet pencil from the August 2012 set. I stamped it in different ways to make the background. I stamped it again a few times to paper piece it using paper from the Peachy Picks Kit
I added glossy accents to the silver part and tip of the pencil. I stamped the greeting on vellum so the pencils could be seen through it.

I hope you have a Peachy day!

oh and HAPPY SHOPPING! :)

BIGGEST PEACHY SALE EVER!!!! and a card :)

Hiya! I made this card for my nephew. I used the adorable Smartie The Owl set from PeachyKeenStamps. I paper pieced him with papers from the High School mat stack from DCWV. The Sophomore papers just happen to be in his school colors...which, once upon a time, were my school colors too! :) I put Smartie the Owl on a wobble so he wiggles.
The sentiment is also from the Smartie The Owl set. I white heat embossed it. To finish it off, I added glossy accents to the glasses. Ok, now on to the sale...hold on to your hat!

bright butterflies

Hello! Are you blind? Hehe this is a bright one! :) I got the idea for the color scheme and wavy white lines from watching Big Brother. Their furniture and lamps are these colors, and they have a wavy white wall. I white heat embossed the Woodgrain Background from Market Street Stamps. I colored it with mustard seed and crushed olive distress markers. The orange is ripe persimmon distress ink. Since it doesn't come in distress marker form I made a "paint" with it and used a paint brush to paint it on. Just squished some ink onto my craft sheet and added a little water to make the "paint". I white heat embossed the Two Step Butterfly from Market Street Stamps and colored them with mustard seed, crushed olive, and ripe persimmon distress inks.
I added glossy accents to the butterflies. They look really cool in real life! OH I forgot to say that I used watercolor paper for the butterflies. Ok, that's it...I hope you didn't go blind. hehe.

Butterfly Card

Hello! I made this card using my Silhouette machine. I don't know how to link to the cuts I used, sorry. I'll get the hang of this eventually! :) I cut everything out of white cardstock so I could ink it up how I wanted. I used spiced marmalade and picked raspberry distress inks. I spritzed the lattice layer and the butterfly with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister. I ♥ sparkle!

I really like how the butterfly turned out. :) I added glossy accents to the body of the butterfly.

I hope you're having a great weekend!

You're out of this world

Hiya! I had fun playing with the School Bus and Lunch stamp set from PeachyKeenStamps today. I just love the cute lunch box and thermos! :) I paper pieced them with papers from the Bo Bunny Blast Off collection. Isn't that little monkey astronaut adorable?! I would've loved this lunch box as a kid!
The sentiment is from a retired set from MarketStreetStamps

I hope you're having a great day!

Butterflies...

Hello my bloggy friends! Today I made a card using my new Silhouette machine. I'm still learning and playing around with it. For my super simple card today I welded butterflies into rectangle using the Silhouette Studio Software. I wanted the negative of the butterflies to use as a background panel. I have lots of pretty butterflies for use on other things now. :) I cut it out with white cardstock so I could ink it up however I wanted. I inked the panel with worn lipstick distress ink using THIS tool.
I used a paintbrush to flick perfect pearls and water onto the butterfly panel. I white heat embossed the Friend Definition background stamp from Hero Arts and inked it up with spun sugar distress ink. To finish, I mounted the butterfly panel with pop dots over top for dimension and shadow. I know this is REALLY simple, but I liked it so much I just couldn't cover it up!

August Stamp Release Blog Hop!

Hello!!! You should have arrived from Nancy's Blog...if not, head HERE to the beginning. For my card today I used the new set called Treats For My Sweet by MyCreativeTime. I stamped the big and awesome Boo stamp onto patterned web paper with embossing ink and heat embossed with clear powder. After melting the powder, I used black soot distress ink to make my resist image pop. Super cool! I dried that some and sprayed with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister for shine...

Really neat and shiny in real life. I stamped the little ghost from the Treats For My Sweet set onto patterned paper. And cut him out and added rock candy distress stickles on him. ♥ that stickles!

Ok, your next stop is the fabulous RUTHIE

Hello and welcome to another PeachyKeen Challenge! This time the challenge is to decorate a box. I made my "pizza box" using Sarah's {pink cricut} super easy tutorial video HERE. You want to use pretty thick cardstock for stability...and this pretty green is right in the Peachy Picks Kit this month! The sweet little boxes take no time to make and they are adorable! I stamped the Recess Jump Rope Girl and colored her with tim holtz distress markers and blended with water and a paint brush. I paper pieced her dress with paper from the Peachy Picks Kit. I used glossy accents to give her a twine jump rope. :) Here are more angles of the box...

I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Recess Jump Rope Girl set.

2 cards :)

Hiya! I made these cards today to enter into a contest over at Hero Arts. If you follow my little blog regularly, you will have noticed that I have become obsessed with Hero Arts backgrounds! :) Anyhoo, there are 3 sketches to choose from and I chose to make 2 cards using them. For this first card I stamped the background with the Happy Definition stamp. I then stamped the middle panel with the Cling Dots background stamp and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used spun sugar, worn lipstick, and picked raspberry distress inks to make gradient color {ombre}. I dried it some and spritzed with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister...here's the shine :)
Really sparkly and cool in real life. The butterflies are from my favorite 3 in 1 butterfly punch by Martha Stewart crafts. And here is the other card I'm entering...
For this one I stamped the background with the Friend Definition stamp. I just ♥ the definition backgrounds! For the colored panel I stamped the Lotus Background and white heat embossed it. I used the fabulous new mowed lawn distress ink for the color. What a GREAT green! :)
I again used the 3 in 1 butterfly punch. The sentiment is from the new Piles of Smiles set from MyCreativeTime

Wish me luck! :)

Thank You

Hello! I have to say that I just love how this card turned out! I got this Thank You stamp from Hero Arts on clearance at Michaels for like 2 bucks. I knew immediately that it would look really pretty paper pieced. I paper pieced it with papers from the Sweet Threads collection by Basic Grey. I added glossy accents to the little dots on the frame. For the berries, I used black enamel accents. Gotta love shine!
I white heat embossed the Thank You Definition background stamp from Hero Arts onto black cardstock. EEK...I seriously love how this one turned out! It would be neat to do in different papers and mask the "thank you" and use another sentiment! I ♥ stamping!

Sneak Peek day 2

Hello! It's day 2 of sneak's for My Creative Time. Today I am sneaking From Our Family To Yours. I used the sweet little tree from that set to make my background paper. I first inked my paper with shabby shutters distress ink. Dried that completely. And over that, stamped the trees with embossing ink and heat embossed with clear powder. Then over that I inked with forest moss distress ink. I sprayed the background with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister to add sparkle.
The sentiment is also from that set. I heat embossed it with white powder.

Head over to Emma's Blog to see lots more sneaks!

I then sprayed it with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister for shine. I colored the hearts with the same markers and misted them with perfect pearls too.
I added glossy accents to the hearts. The sentiment is from the 29 and Holding set from PinkByDesign.

Sparkle Stamping

Hello! I had lots of fun playing with stamps today. :) I tried out a new technique, and I just love how it turned out! It's really easy to do {I promise}. I swiped 3 lines of distress inks onto my craft sheet. First picked raspberry... Then worn lipstick under that, and then picked raspberry again. I then sprayed my "palette" with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister. This becomes your "ink pad". Then I just wiggled my Lotus Background stamp around a little in it to blend the colors. And then stamp, and voila...you have stamped with sparkle! Oh how I adore perfect pearls! I really wish the photos did the sparkly goodness justice ;) If you look closely, you can see it here...
It is really cool in real life. I stamped the Heart Owls from Hero Arts twice so I could paper piece them. Aren't they sweet?! I used the Friend Definition background stamp for the strip behind the owls. And the adorable sentiment is from the You're A Hoot set from PinkByDesign.

I hope you've had a fabulous weekend! I'm so happy it's awesome TV night! I ♥ Sunday night! Big Brother, True Blood, Breaking Bad, and Weeds! Yeah! :)
