Merry and BRIGHT ;)

Hello! Yesterday was all about one layer cards in class at OnlineCardClasses. Here is my neon creation. :) For this first card I used a deer die from the Oh Deer set by MyCreativeTime to create a mask. I cut it from Post-It paper. I also used post it paper to mask off a rectangle for my focal point. then I masked off stripes and sponged on neon green and neon pink Hero Arts inks.
The greeting is from the Boughs Of Holly set from MyCreativeTime. And since I had the stuff out, I made another card. This one isn't one layer...
I used the positive deer mask from the other card on this one. I glued it down and covered it with glossy accents. I used the Grainy Wood Background and neon green ink for the card base.
The greeting is from an old Market Street Stamps set called Shine On. I added pink noses to both deer...with wink of stella and glossy accents. :)

I hope you have a HAPPY weekend!

Neon Sunshine Shaker Card

Hello! My card today was made for a sweet girl named Maddy. I saw her story HERE, and definitely wanted to send her a card...you can too! Details HERE. My goal was to make her a card that would make her smile, if even for just a moment. Here it is...
Bright enough?? :) I started by stamping the Here Comes The Sun background by MarketStreetStamps with Neon Pink Hero Arts Shadow Ink. I LOVE this background soooo much! It is still available HERE, but that's it! The yellow on this card??? I used a highlighter from the dollar store. YAY! :) The sweet face on the sun window is from the Sweet And Silly Face Assortment by PeachyKeenStamps
I filled the window with Neon and Crystal Clear sequins from Neat And Tangled. The greeting is from the Everyday Sayings set by Hero Arts. To make the greeting strip pop, I mounted it on some silver paper I made with Brushed Pewter distress stain.

I hope this makes Maddy smile, and I hope YOU have a great weekend!

Fun with distress stains

Hiya! I made these two cards in a jiffy this afternoon. I used shabby shutters, crushed olive, and broken china distress stains to make my backgrounds. I just put my paper in a box {to avoid a huge mess} and dabbed the distress stains to make these cool splotches.
The sentiment is from the Believing Butterfly set from MarketStreetStamps. Sadly, MarketStreetStamps will be closing up shop on the 30th. Sniffle. HOWEVER, their remaining stamps are on super clearance! SCORE! So pop over and grab some awesome stamps at killer prices! And here's another super quick card...
I did the same thing for the background. This technique is really easy and fun! :) For this one, I added the sentiment from Believing Butterfly on some vellum.
I finished it off with some sequins and gems. :)

Enabling Alert! In addition to awesome deals at MarketStreetStamps... you can get your paws on distress stains at awesome prices at Blitsy right now! Also, they have the entire set of distress markers on sale for crazy cheap too! If you sign up for Blitsy through my link HERE {it's free}...I will earn money towards a future purchase, and then you can too! YAY! Win win! :)

Happy Creating!

You may want to put on your sunglasses...

HA! Like the title of this post??? ;) The other day I watched a documentary called "Just Like Being There". It's about gig posters, and the artists who make them. Well, I got super inspired! I loved the 60's era gig posters, and had this card in my head immediately. So, I ordered Hero Arts Neon Inks. :) I stamped the Here Comes The Sun background from MarketStreetStamps first with neon yellow ink. Then I twisted the stamp to offset it a bit and stamped with neon orange. Then I punched out a circle so I could add some sequins for the sun. I promise in real life the sequins pick up the colors. They don't look bluish and purplish in person.
I can't tell you how incredibly relaxing I find gluing sequins to be. LOVE it! I stamped the greeting from the You're Brilliant set from MyCreativeTime. Then I added some black sequins to finish it off.

I hope you're having a great day!

p.s. The sequins I used on this card came from HERE

SEQUINS!!! :)

Hello! I totally dreamed this card last night, and woke up and made it. :) The pictures aren't great, I think it blinded my camera. ;) Anyhoo, I used the Hannah Montana cricut cartridge to cut out the negative space for the music notes. I traced the notes on another piece of paper and covered it in sequins. SO FUN! I found it therapeutic, like my beloved paper piecing. :)
SO SHINY AND FUN!!! YAY! I ♥ SEQUINS!!! tee hee! Ok, I got off track there for a second... I popped up the negative music note layer so the sequins had some room. And that fab sentiment is from the Great Big Greetings set from MarketStreetStamps.

I had music on the brain because...My Sailor and I are road trippin' on down to see Alan Jackson tonight! YEE HAW! I ♥ him! I wore out tons of his tapes...and then CD's. :)

Have a SHINY HAPPY weekend!

Thinking Of You

Hello! Happy Tuesday to you. :) Today I had some fun with the Faceless Flowers 12 Pointed Petal set from PeachyKeenStamps. This set is retiring, and is only $8.97! Score! :) I stamped the flowers with Pale Tomato, Butter Bar, and Orange Soda Hero Arts Shadow Inks. I stamped some on their own, and some I layered to get different looks. FUN! :)
I filled in some of the blank spots with the little dots from the Bloom Where You Are Planted set from MyCreativeTime. The greeting is from the Great Big Greetings set from MarketStreetStamps. And to finish it off, I added some...wait for it...SEQUINS!!! :)

p.s. Lots of good t.v. tonight...including the first episode of So You Think You Can Dance! YAY!

His and Hers Birthday Cards

Today was day 2 of "His and Hers" over at OnlineCardClasses.com. Our homework today was to make some birthday cards. Can you tell which is "his" and which is "hers"? LOL! :) I used the fantastic set from MarketStreetStamps called Dreaming Of The Sea to stamp all those cute anchors.
I stamped the anchors in Navy Hero Arts Shadow Ink for my "his" card. Using the Fiskars Stamp Press makes creating a repeating pattern really easy. {and fun!} I stamped the sentiment from the set called Great Big Greetings by MarketStreetStamps on vellum and heat embossed it. And here is my blingified "her" version...
I stamped the anchors with Bubble Gum Hero Arts Shadow Ink. YAY! Pink anchors! :) Same sentiment stamp as the "his" card. I added some pink gems and called her done. As a Navy Wife, I really love how these cards turned out! {and I know some peeps that will love them too}

I hope you've had a fantastic day!

p.s. bad news. my vagabond died today. boo.

His and Hers

Hello! Today was day one of the new "His and Hers" class at OnlineCardClasses.com. The class is all about adapting cards for "him" or "her". I made two cards and switched up the colors to make a "his" and "her" version. I masked off a strip for the sentiment and then I stamped stars from the Year Round Sentiments set by Hero Arts. I also stamped the "nautical" stars from the Dreaming Of The Sea set from MarketStreetStamps. And the tiny black stars are from the It's A Magical Season set by MyCreativeTime.
I stamped the greeting after I peeled up the mask. The greeting is from the Everyday Sayings set by Hero Arts. And here is my "his" version of this card...
I switched to more boyish ink colors on this one. For both cards I used all Hero Arts Shadow Inks. And Ranger Archival Black ink for this greeting from that Everyday Sayings set again.
There you have it, my take on "his" and "hers" for today. :)

I'd be lost without you!

Hiya! I have a super simple card today, but I totally love it! :) I stamped the compass from the set aptly named Compass from MarketStreetStamps. I stamped it twice so I could paper piece the little heart. Like the stamp set I used yesterday, this one too is just 5 bucks! YEAH!
I used my sakura stardust glitter pen to add sparkle to the compass. I also added glossy accents to the heart. The fabulous sentiment is from the new Lots Of Love set from MyCreativeTime.

Just me, thinking of you...

Hello. For my card today I stamped and paper pieced the light bulb from the Bright Side set by MarketStreetStamps. Isn't that the cutest image?! It's just 5 bucks! SCORE! :) I used papers from the Sunshine collection from My Mind's Eye.
The sentiment is from the new Lots Of Love set from MyCreativeTime. I thought it went perfectly with the light bulb...which makes me think of thinking. LOL. Ding! Light bulb moment! {ahh Oprah}... I used my silver sakura pen for the metal bottom part. And to finish, I added a punched heart with some glossy accents on it.

Welcome Sweet Baby

Hello! Here is the card I made for my friend who just welcomed a baby girl into her family. Congrats Erica and fam! Erica is a blogger and she is awesome. Check out her blog HERE. On to the card deets. You may be thinking...a skull on a baby card??? LOL I know that it's super non-traditional, but I dig it! The skull is from the Rock Princess cartridge. I coated it with 2 layers of rock candy distress stickles. I inked the bow with spun sugar distress ink and finished it off with glossy accents.
Lots of fun shine and sparkle. :) I stamped the Sweet Lace Background from MarketStreetStamps and inked it with spun sugar distress ink. For the sentiment I first stamped the "welcome sweet baby" from the All Star Baby set from MyCreativeTime. Then I used the Stepping Stone Alphabet set from Hero Arts to spell out the baby's name. And isn't that just the sweetest name?! OH and the skull is on a wobble so it wiggles. :)

I hope you're having a great day! Be sure to pop over to MyCreativeTime and see some sneaks from the new release. You are going to love em'! I'm sure having a blast playing! :)

Lots of distressy fun :) and ENABLING!

I just can't get enough of this Flower Bursts background stamp! So I white heat embossed a bunch and just inked them up with bright and fun distress inks. SUPER EASY! :) For this first one I used peacock feathers distress ink. The sentiment is from the Enjoy Today set from Market Street Stamps. And psst, it's being retired, so it's on sale super cheap! Ok, onto more inky fun!
This one was make with Squeezed Lemonade distress ink. This happy birthday sentiment is from PaperTreyInk.
This one was made with Picked Raspberry distress ink from the Summer collection.
And this one was made with Mowed Lawn distress ink from the Summer Collection. And for this last one, I used my Distress Markers to color the stamp. Super quick and easy, and a really cool result! Just color your stamp till your little heart is content, and then huff on it {breathe hot/moist air} and stamp!
I used broken china and shabby shutter distress markers on this one. The sentiment is from the Gift Card Sentiments set from MyCreativeTime. There are tons more cool colors combos that would be fun. EEK! I just love this "hobby"!

Wishing you a speedy recovery

Hello! Nikki here a.k.a. Scrappin'NavyWife. :) This is the card I made for Emma's son. I used paper that I've been hoarding forever {from Hobby Lobby} to paper piece this rocket stamp called Blast Off. PSST...Blast Off is on sale over at MarketStreetStamps!!! :) I thought it went perfectly with the "wishing you a speedy recovery" sentiment from the Many Greetings stamp set. Here you can see how cool and shiny this paper is...

And tomorrow is my Mom in law's birthday...and here's the card I made her :)
I used the Whimsical Calendar Days set to make her personalized b-day calendar. I stamped it on the XL Label die and white heat embossed it.
Punched some butterflies and voila! :)

I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!!

Don't just float...Swim

Hello! I finally got the new summer distress inks in the mail, so I just had to play with them. They are super duper fun and really vibrant colors! I started this card by making my background with tumbled glass and broken china distress inks. While the ink was still wet I flicked on some water to make the little specks. {looks like real water this way} I stamped the Fishie stamp from MarketStreetStamps 3 times and used the new summer distress ink to color them. I just blot some ink onto my craft sheet and squirt some perfect pearls and water mixture into each ink to make a shimmery "paint". Then I just painted on the colors with paint brushes. You can see the shimmer better here...

I filled in the bubbles {also from Fishie} with a sakura glitter pen and added glossy accents over top of it to make the bubbles...bubblier :) I did the same thing on the dots in the sentiment that is also from the adorable Fishie set from MarketStreetStamps. Oh, and I added glossy accents to their eyes....EEK I just think this Fishie set is so super cute, and it's only 5 bucks!

PSST...Market Street Stamps has a mini release, and it's adorable! :)

One stamp...2 cards

Hello! I got my new Market Street Stamps in the mail and was super excited to start playing with them. I just LOVE this floral image called GROW sooooo much! I decided to make 2 cards....one being very simple and the other more labor intensive. For this first card, I stamped the Grow stamp on sticky back canvas with black archival ink. I pulled out some threads to unravel the edges...
I finished it off with some pearls {that match in real life} and some twine and a button. The button is from last month's Peachy Picks Kit. SUPER SIMPLE card, but it's cool because of the canvas texture. And here is the labor intensive card...
Totally different look, right?! This is why stamping is SO AWESOME! :) For this card I spent a LONG time paper piecing. I cut out everything {even the teeny tiny bits}. I used paper from the Walk in the Park collection by Echo Park. I seriously love how this card turned out!
To finish, I added liquid pearls and glossy accents. OH I should mention that I used the scraps of patterned paper that I used for paper piecing to make the background. Waste not........ ;)
