Halloween Blog Hop

Hello! You should have arrived from Nancy's Blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. I am going to share a fun technique for making your own custom "fabric" accent. This is super easy and most of all fun! :) I used the XL Label die to cut out some patterned paper and also some Sticky Back Canvas. Sticky Back Canvas is exactly what it sounds like, canvas with a sticky back. I just love this stuff! Super fun to stamp on and ink, but I will be using the sticky side today. :)
Peel off the backing on the sticky back canvas and stick the patterned paper on it patterned side face down. Make sure to really rub it in {I used my bone folder}.This is how the magical transfer of the pattern will happen!
Now spray it like crazy with plain old water and get ready for the magic to happen. You'll need a really fancy tool for the next part...your finger! :) Rub Rub Rub away the paper...
Look! It's happening! See the ghosts appearing?! Just keep on rubbing until all the paper is gone and you'll be left with your very own custom fabric!
Tada!!! From here I dried it really well and gave it a coat of matte mod podge to seal it. And here is my finished card...
I stamped the ghost from the Treats For My Sweet set twice. Once on patterned paper and once on sticky back canvas. I paper pieced it on to the canvas and cut it out. I used my fingernail to fray the canvas. The sentiment is from the All Around Halloween set
I sure hope you liked my little tutorial! OH and here's an extra bit of enabling for you aside from Emma's super duper awesome sale :)...Blitsy has Sticky Back Canvas on sale super cheap right now. I really like the white, but there is also a natural color which is really pretty. If you sign up for Blitsy through THIS LINK I will earn money toward future purchases...and then you can do the same! Win win! OH and I just ordered all the new metallic distress stains from there too. Super excited to try those out!
