Designer Challenge

Hello! It's time for another Designer Challenge over at MyCreativeTime. The challenge is to use fabric or stitching on your project. The stitching can be real or faux. And shocker, I used faux stitching. :)
For my card I used the fabulous Warm Holiday Fun set that comes with these cute ornament dies. I cut them out and then white heat embossed them with the patterned stamp that is also in the Warm Holiday Fun  set. I inked them up with picked raspberry, ripe preserves, and peacock feathers distress inks. I love unexpected colors for holiday cards! I then spritzed them with perfect pearls and water.
The sentiment is also from the Warm Holiday Fun set. Oh I forgot to say that I used brushed pewter distress stain for make the silver ornament toppers. That stuff rocks!

Be sure to pop over to MyCreativeTime to see what the other designers made and to play along!

a "tag" and enabling! :)

Hello! Here is the tag I made for our Challenge One for release week for PeachyKeenStamps. I started with the neat wooden tag that comes in the new Peachy Picks Kit. I used broken china distress stain to color it quickly. I let that dry and then coated it with rock candy distress stickles for some shine. Let it all  dry...I stamped the adorable penguin from the Skatin' By set from PeachyKeenStamps twice so I could paper piece it. The papers are from the Peachy Picks Kit. It didn't quite match the blue, so I inked that papers with broken china distress ink for a perfect match. That's a neat thing to remember...it's ok to ink up patterned papers too! :) I turned my "tag" into an ornament. The bow and super neat snowflakes are also included in the new Peachy Picks Kit

And there's the Peachy Keen sale info...and they now carry a tool that I think ALL STAMPERS MUST HAVE! I seriously don't know how I lived without it. It's just fabulous...and if you have dexterity issues of any kind, you NEED this tool! It's the Fiskars Stamp Press. And I think the best part about it is that LARGE full size backgrounds fit on it just perfectly! It makes managing those large stamps so easy! Also, it's almost impossible to mess up your stamping with it! Those sponge feet hold it up and squish down super easily when you're ready to stamp...not when you accidentally drop the block! LOL ...it works with both clear and cling mount stamps.

See! That HUGE background fits! :) This this is genius! Our fabulous leader Kathy Jakopovich made a video HERE showing the Fiskars Stamp Press in action for perfect stamping on SVG cuts {which can be challenging}...perfect results every time!

So I suggest adding this Fiskars Stamp Press to your cart while you're shopping the fabulous sale at PeachyKeenStamps! You will wonder how you lived without it! I know I sure did.

PeachyKeen Sneaks :)

Hiya Peachies! It's sneaky peek time! For this first card I paper pieced the CUTEST DEER EVER from the new November 2012 set. Seriously, isn't he beyond adorable?! The patterned papers are from the fabulous new Peachy Picks Kit. The circle with the 25 is from the Peachy Picks Kit. I white embossed the neat label shape that is also from the new November 2012 set.
I white heat embossed the sentiment from the November 2012 set on the label shape. I colored the nose and collar with a glitter marker and added glossy accents to the nose. And here's another peek...
For this card I used the new set called Snow Gifts for the adorable snowman. I stamped it and covered it with rock candy distress stickles. It makes it sparkle, but you can still see the face through it. I paper pieced the gloves, hat, and scarf with papers from the Peachy Picks Kit.
I used the washi tape from the Peachy Picks Kit to create the chevron panel the snowman is on. I just lined up the patterns in rows. I added some more stickles for sparkle and finished it off with a bow using ribbon from the Peachy Picks Kit

Be sure to head over to the PeachyKeen Blog to see more sneaks!

Magic of Christmas

Hello! I am taking the Holiday Card Workshop with OnlineCardClasses.com. I enjoyed that last class I took so much that I just had to sign up for this one. I was inspired to do some masking for my sentiment by a card Jennifer McGuire made. I cut a strip of Post It craft paper to mask off the white area for my sentiment. I started by stamping the Collage Music Background in black. Over that I stamped the Lucious Floral Background with embossing ink and clear heat embossed it so the first stamp would show through. I inked over top of it with festive berries distress ink.
I stamped the Reindeer twice so I could paper piece it. I used that same Collage Music Background for the body. I added some sakura stardust glitter pen to the antlers for sparkle. The sentiment is from the Magic of Christmas set.

See you tomorrow with some PeachyKeen sneaks! :)

3D Wednesday...and HAPPY HALLOWEEN :)

It's 3D Wednesday again over at MyCreativeTime! Today we are making 3D cards. I chose to make a box card {my first one ever}. It was super easy and fun! :) I learned how by watching the fabulous Shari Carroll's video HERE. And here's my "card"...
I used the XL Label die to cut out my window. I made the scene inside with papers from the Figgy Pudding collection from Basic Grey {which I'm no longer hoarding}. I paper pieced the cutie snowman from the All Around Accessories set.
I white heat embossed the sentiment from the From Our Family To Yours set from MyCreativeTime. Pop over to Emma's Blog to see lots more 3D fun! :)

Although I made a Christmas card...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
