MCT-Stamp of the Month

Hello! It's time for another "Stamp of the Month" at MyCreativeTime. This month it's the Believe in Your Dreams set. I made this card for my Nana as a thank you for helping me hang some art in my living room when she was here. So I made the feathers look like the artwork.

Anyhoo, I gold heat embossed the feathers and painted them with distress inks. I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames and More dies and my new favorite Stitched Postage Frame Dies

Merry Christmas

Hello! I was SUPER INSPIRED by the fantabulous Kelly Latevola's card in the Holiday Style class at OnlineCardClasses yesterday. She used greens for her card, but I decided to rainbowify it! Yay, RAINBOW! :) I used the Family And Friends set by Hero Arts for my trees. I used a rainbow of distress inks as well. I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies by MyCreativeTime for middle layer...and the greeting is from the Holiday Tags Stamp And Die set by MyCreativeTime

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

dec 25th

Hello! Today's Holiday Style class at OnlineCardClasses is all about sparkle and shine. For my card I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies for the panel and layer. I embossed one of the Bunch Of Fun Circles dies into the front panel, and then watercolored it with distress inks.

It's difficult to see in a photo, but it's really cool in real life. I used the Dec25th Die by MyCreativeTime. I cut it a few times from white and used Tim Holtz glitter paper on top. Then I added glossy accents to make it shiny. :)

I hope you're having a great day.

Tomorrow is a new day

Hello! I've made a card to play along in the current Wplus9 Sketch Challenge. There is the above sketch to follow, and here is my take on it...

I started by using a curvy border die to draw a curved line that I could later cut out around my images. I stamped the butterflies from the Flora And Fauna 2 set by Wplus9 and watercolored them with distress inks. I cut up to the butterflies, and then fussy cut around the wings that I wanted to hang off the curve. So, the butterfly panel is all one piece. :)

I used a woodgrain embossing folder for the right side, and I think it makes the wings that hang off really pop. :) The greeting is from the A New Day set by Wplus9

I hope you're having a wonderful day.

MCT 40th Edition Release Blog Hop!

Hello! You should have arrived from Lucia's blog, if not, head HERE to start at the beginning. For my cards today I have used the adorable new You Had Me At Meow set. KITTIES! Yay!!! :) Did you know I love kitties???? Well, I do! Anyhoo...for this first card I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies for the card base and shaker layer.
I used the Stitched Sweethearts and XOXO dies for the shaker window. I paper pieced the kitty from the You Had Me At Meow set. I also gave her a collar from the set. I used the coordinating dies that come with the set to cut her out. The greeting that I love so much is also from the same set.
For this card I used the Uppercase Fun Dies to partially die cut MEW. I used the kitty die from the You Had Me At Meow to replace the O, although "mew" is also a kitty noise. ;) I colored the kitty to look like my guy Simba using my Prismacolor colored pencils.
I used the You Had Me At Meow for the birthday greeting as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE this new set. Oh, and I gave kitty the other collar option in the stamp set. A fishy collar. Cute! :)

MCT Inspiration Wednesday-Celebrate The Season

Hiya! It's Inspiration Wednesday at MyCreativeTime. I was inspired to make this card when I came across this adorable embossing folder that I have never used...and forgot I even had! It's from a set of 2 embossing folders called Dearly and Frost by Sizzix/Basic Grey. I cut my circle out, and then embossed it. Then I made it into a shaker. I made the ring around the shaker with the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies. The greeting is from the Winter Cheer set by MyCreativeTime. Super simple card, but really striking in real life. :)

Jesus Is The Reason...

Hello! Yesterday the class at Online Card Classes was all about watercolor. For my card I heat embossed the nativity scene from the Greatest Gift set by Hero Arts. I used Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold embossing powder. Then the fun part, watercoloring! :) I used shabby shutters and peeled paint distress inks and water for the grass. I used tumbled glass, broken china, salty ocean, chipped sapphire, and seedless preserves distress inks on the sky. I wanted it to look like it was glowing close to the scene, and then get darker.
The greeting is also from the Greatest Gift set by Hero Arts

I hope you're having a great day! I'm off to work on my homework from today's class. :)

p.s. I'm also entering this in the current Hero Arts Challenge in the Mad About Metallics category.

MCT Made In Minutes

Hiya! It's Made in Minutes Monday at MyCreativeTime. For my card I started by gold heat embossing the Grainy Wood Background. I used Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold embossing powder. I cut a circle with the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies. I die cut the deer from the Oh Deer set in the circle. I covered the deer with embossing ink and then used Wow Ultra High Gold Embossing powder on it. That embossing powder is awesome, and perfectly matches the super fine gold powder too! Score! I inlaid the deer back in the circle.
You can see the dimension from that high embossing powder. It's really cool stuff! :) I gold heat embossed the greeting from the Winter Cheer set with the fine embossing powder.

p.s. It's not easy getting decent pics of a card that is so shiny. Sorry about that.

Tag It Tuesday "Oh Ship!"

Here is the inspiration for today...I chose to use the top three colors on the right. :)

Hello! It's Tag It Tuesday at MyCreativeTime. Here is my mildly naughty nautical card. ;) I used the Tag Dies for my tag. I embossed it with a stars cuttlebug folder. I stamped the card base with the Build A Scripty & Watercolor Background set with stone wash Hero Arts shadow ink. I stamped the sailboat from the Lost At Sea set with soft granite, stone wash, and pale tomato Hero Arts shadow inks. I put in on a vellum circle I cut with the Bunch Of Fun Circles Dies
I stamped my funny greeting onto the Trio Stitched Banner Dies using the fabulous Alpha Pack. This is a belated birthday card...get it? Oh ship! {i missed your birthday} :) I crack me up.

Thrifty Thursday-Shaker

Hiya! It's Thrifty Thursday at MyCreativeTime. Today we use our scraps. I used the scrap Vintage Label Die Cut that I had stamped with the Build A Chevy Background that I used on THIS card. I used a circle die to cut out the center to make a shaker. I stamped the greeting with the new Girls Night Out set with charcoal hero arts shadow ink.
I filled the window with sequins. For my card base, I used a dot embossing folder {I think an old quik kutz}. And above the dots I embossed 2 lines with my Martha Stewart Score Board.

PeachyKeen Challenge # 35

Hello! It's challenge time again. For this challenge we have a sketch and a color combo to follow. I have to admit that I goofed and used orange rather than apricot. OOPS! We all make mistakes, right?! ☺ I flipped the sketch vertically for my card, and here it is.................
For my card I used the Cute Kitties stamp set. I just LOVE that set! I stamped the paw prints from the set with versamark ink and then used ultra fine clear embossing powder to heat emboss my own patterned paper.

I hope you will hop over to the Challenge Blog and play along with us! There will be one judged winner this time and that lucky person will  get a $30 gift certificate to PeachyKeenStamps.com. ☺

Happy Stamping!

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. I used my FAV circle and scalloped circle from Winter Woodland. ☺
p.p.s. The sentiment and all paper are from PaperTreyInk.com
