Ok, back to my card...I used this sweet angel from the new January 2012 set from the Peachy Keen Stamp Club. I colored her with prismacolor colored pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits.

I added my FAVORITE ice crystal glitter paint to her wings. The sentiment is white heat embossed and is also from the January 2012 set. OH and the papers are from the fabulous Peachy Picks kit.

My favorite stamp of the month

Hello! "My favorite stamp of the month" is a new feature Emma and the design team will be doing every other Thursday. For this one we are featuring You Had Me At Chocolate. This was Emma's very first stamp set and I just love it! :) Ok, onto my card...I made this in about 15 minutes! Somehow the idea popped into my head and I ran with it. ;) I inked up the text portion with festive berries and fired brick distress inks. I then added lots of shine by misting with perfect pearls and water...

See all that shine? It's really pretty in real life. Pictures just can't do it justice. ;) I white heat embossed the sentiment from You Had Me At Chocolate from MyCreativeTime. The patterned papers are from the pretty Yours Truly collection by Echo Park. OH, I just hand cut that heart....no cricut ;)

3-D Wednesday

Hello! Today is 3-D Wednesday at MyCreativeTime. Emma asked us to create a 3-D project and include some "texture". So I decided to make some little critters using her Stitched Lollipop Holder Die. For this first one I cut the felt scallop and the circle with the Scallop and Stitched Circle Die. The face is from the Winter Wonderland Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps. The sentiment is from Wow So Many Candles.

For this one I again cut the felt scallop and circle using the Scallop and Stitched Circle Die. His cute lion face is from the Animal Faces Medium set from PeachyKeenStamps. The sentiment is from Wow So Many Candles set. I think these would be super cute for a kids party!

Happy Heart Day

Hiya! Here is a card I made super quickly this afternoon. I don't usually do such "clean and simple" cards, but I just love the way this one turned out! I used the heart die that comes in the 100% Sweetness set from MyCreativeTime to cut out the center portion of the text piece. I inked it up with Victorian Velvet distress ink and misted with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister.

I put a piece of patterned paper from the Yours Truly collection by Echo Park behind the heart cut out. I white heat embossed the gorgeous sentiment from the 100% Sweetness set from MyCreativeTime.

Hello! Happy Sunday to you. :) Today I played with some MarketStreetStamps. I used the Sweet Lace background stamp for my patterned paper. Isn't it gorgeous?! I colored the bird from the Follow Your Heart set with distress inks in Festive Berries, Fired Brick, and just a little Aged Mahogany. This is a super quick way to add color using the foam blending tool, and then cutting your image out and paper piecing it to another stamped image.

Here you can see the sparkle of the perfect pearls and water I misted on the bird. {looks cool in person} The sentiment is also from the Follow Your Heart set from MarketStreetStamps.

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend! I am stoked for the new season of Shameless tonight!!!! I just LOVE that show!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hiya! I just cannot stop playing with the NEW PeachyKeenStamps goodies! I colored up Cupid's Sting again with spica glitter markers. He is just SO CUTE!!! The sentiment is also from Cupid's Sting. See that heart...I was working on a background with the new XOXOXO background stamp, but I messed up...didn't want to waste the "good" bit...so I inked it up and cut out a heart. :)

Here you can see the sparkle of the spica glitter markers and the ice crystal glitter paint I used for the cloud and his wings. The pretty papers are from the Yours Truly 6x6 pad by Echo Park. Really pretty papers in this collection!

This is gonna sting a little!

EEK! Two posts in one day...I just can't stop playing with NEW PeachyKeen awesomeness! :) This stamp is so cute I swear it almost hurts to look at it! HA. He is called Cupid's Sting and I sure wouldn't mind catching an arrow from him! I made this using the papers and embellies from the new Peachy Picks Kit. I colored up Cupid with Spica glitter markers...you can see the sparkle here...

See it sparkle? ;) I painted the wings and clouds with ice crystal glitter paint. LOVE that stuff! See the shine on the hearts? Those are acrylic hearts that come in the Peachy Picks Kit. Super easy to customize with cute patterned paper. {just a few tiny dabs of glossy accents to adhere paper to acrylic} The kraft die cut tag is also from the Peachy Picks Kit. I put a piece of patterned paper behind the die cut word, and filled it in with glossy accents for some shine. I also embossed the tag with a sizzix folder. {don't remember what it's called, from Valentine's last year.} And finally, how CUTE is that sentiment???? LOVE IT! It's also from the Cupid's Sting stamp.

Throwback Thursday

Hello! Sorry this is getting posted late, blogger was being a meanie to me. Anyhoo, welcome to the first Throwback Thursday of 2012! For my first card here I used the basketball from the Slam Dunk set to create my patterned paper. I also cut one out for the little boy to hold. I used distress inks in ripe persimmon and a little bit of rusty hinge. The little boy is from Everyday Paper Dolls.

The # 1 on his jersey is from the Sports Sentiments set. His face is from the Wide Eyed Kids asst from PeachyKeenStamps. And just for fun I gave him "real" shoelaces. ;)

For this card I used the Black Belt set to stamp the yin yang background paper. Super easy!

The big yin yang is from the Pagoda cartridge. I put it on a wobble so it wiggles. :) Scoot on over to Emma's blog to see her and the rest of the dt's awesome creations...AND to play along!

Hiya! Today's card was totally inspired by my Apple Cinnamon Cheerios box! :) See, inspiration lurks around every corner... or in this case, on top of the fridge! hehe I used Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, and Evergreen Bough distress inks to create the background. I misted it with perfect pearls in a mini mister AND splattered with that mixture too. I just unscrew the pump portion and flick it at the paper. I stamped the cute apple from the Faceless Fruit stamp set from PeachyKeenStamps. I colored it super quickly with my ink blending tool and distress inks in Festive Berries and Fired Brick. I used the same greens as the background for the leaf. OH I paper pieced the colored bits. :)

Here you can see the shine of the perfect pearls a little better. I white heat embossed the sentiment from the So Grateful For You set from MyCreativeTime.

ALSO I wanted to say how excited I am to be staying on the PeachyKeenStamps design team! I look so forward to getting to know all the new dt members! :) Pop over HERE to meet the new team!

Hello! I spotted this FAB yellow paper in my Echo Park Springtime paper pack and just knew I needed to paper piece the sweet Vivienne and Friends set from PeachyKeenStamps with it. I just LOVE yellow!! So bright and cheery!!! :) I know they look like they're floating...but I didn't want to add any other colors... ;)

The sentiment is from the Spring has Sprung set from PinkByDesign.

I hope all of you have a FABULOUS time tonight ringing in the New Year...But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't drink and drive!!! Call a cab. It's cheaper than a DUI! AND you won't end up dead! ;)

I for one and extremely happy to leave 2011 behind. Here's to a better 2012!

Hello! Since it's been so long since I posted, I have 3 cards today. ;) A girl that works with my hubby asked for a card to give to her man who will be leaving for Afghanistan soon...I made her 3. For this first one I used the Our Troops set from PinkByDesign. I did some masking of the words corps and airman to create corpsman.

I hand cut the hearts. The papers are from the US Navy K and Company stack. Onto the next...

For this one I used the sweet heart/earth cut from the Give A Hoot cartridge. I cut the top layer out of white cardstock and used tumbled glass and broken china distress inks to custom color it. I spritzed that with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister to add shine...

I put the cut on a wobble so it wiggles. :) The sentiment is from the Ain't No Sunshine set from MarketStreetStamps. I just LOVE that font!

For this last SUPER SIMPLE one I used the camel from the Animal Kingdom cartridge. I thought a cammo camel would be funny since he will be in camel country...ok, maybe it's just me. HA Anyhoo...his face is from the Animal Faces Medium set from PeachyKeenStamps. The sentiment is from the Just A Little Note To Say set from MyCreativeTime.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve :) Today I have a super simple card I made using the adorable Herby Die from PeachyKeenStamps. He is supposed to be for Halloween, but I made him more wintery using the hat and scarf from the Doll Accessories 3 die from PeachyKeenStamps.

His cute face is from The Cornies Assortment set from PeachyKeenStamps. The setiment is from the Small Talk set from MyCreativeTime.

Let it Snow

Hello! Eek! I can't believe I haven't posted since last Wednesday! For my card today I used the fabulous Snowman Doll Set from PeachyKeenStamps. This set has 2 snowmen and lots of goodies to dress them with. I turned my snowman into a snowlady. I paper pieced her outfit and made her a headband. ;)

I added a bit of sparkle to the edges of her body with a clear spika glitter pen. You can kind of see it here if you look closely. To finish, I white heat embossed the sentiment that is also from the Snowman Doll Set.

You're the bomb

Hiya! My hubby asked me to make a card for a fellow sailor that is leaving for "bomb school" and this is what I came up with. Let me tell you that I didn't just step out of my comfort zone, I took a flying leap out of it! ;) To start I made my background using the Here Comes The Sun stamp from MarketStreetStamps. I first inked up my cardstock from light to dark using distress inks in Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, and Spiced Marmalade. I then inked up the Here Comes The Sun stamp with distress embossing ink and clear heat embossed it. Doing this allows you to keep the lighter colors under the clear embossing so you can add in darker colors over top. For my reds I used Festive Berries, Fired Brick, and a little Aged Mahogany.

Both of the die cut pieces are from the Indie Art cricut cartridge. I cut all the pieces out of white cardstock so I could color them with distress inks. For the bomb I used Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, and a little Forest Moss. For the mushroom cloud I used Black Soot, Pumice Stone, and Weathered Wood. To finish it off I used Rock Candy distress stickles {spread out with my finger} to add a hint of "manly" shine. ;) The sentiment is from the Sweet Summer set from PinkByDesign. It actually says "you're the bomb.com" but I masked off the .com part with a post it note. Well, that's my WAY outta my comfort zone card! :)

I paper pieced him with papers from the 12 days of Christmas collection from My Mind's Eye. I hand cut him out which definitely takes more time than the awesome new PeachyKeen Kut Outs! ;)

I can almost hear you saying, "um, Nikki??? a brown Christmas card???" hehehehehe I only have brown felt and wanted to use this sentiment from the Mixed Holiday Sentiments sooooo I made a brown/kraft card ;) I used the awesome burlap stamp from the Build a Banner Kit to stamp my card base and the strip above the sentiment. I actually stamped the whole card front and it really looks cool!

I used the heart die that comes in the 100% Sweetness set to cut out the felt. Works like a charm! Sorry the pictures make the browns look different, I swear they're the same in real life! ;)

These are 4.25 x 4.25 cards so they fit in a regular envelope. I used the XL label dies and stamped the XL Label Border of snowflakes onto it. I used the new seasonal distress inks to add color. And I stamped the sentiment from the All Around Christmas set onto the Curly Label Die. Voila, cards done! :) That's it for me.....

For my simple card today I used the Jolly Holidays cartridge for the mittens. I gave them faces from the Winter Wonderland assortment from PeachyKeenStamps.com.

I added rock candy stickles to the cuff of the mittens. The sweet sentiment is from the Mixed Holiday Sentiments set from MyCreativeTime. Lots of great sentiments in that set! Ok, that's if for me today...

For my card today I cut a sweet little elf from the Jolly Holidays cricut cartridge. His sweet face is from the Snowmany Face Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps.com. Oh and I first painted the light bulbs with Sizzling Red Glitter Paint and let it dry and then added some glossy accents. It looks really cool...like real glass bulbs! ;)

I used the awesome All Around Christmas stamp set and the Scallop and Stitched Circle dies for my sentiment. The cute little tree is also in the All Around Christmas set. OH I also wanted to mention that I like to use my EK success Scalloped Scallop edge punch when I used the Scallop and Stitched Circle dies...because the edges are the same! :) Ok...that's it for me, but first...

PeachyKeen Challenge 66

Hello! It's challenge time again and this time we have the above sketch to follow. No twist this time. Here is my take on the sketch...

I used the Winter Character With Stocking Hat die to stamp the sweet Penguin Girl onto. This die also coordinates with the Snow Girl stamp...so the die is a two-fer! ;) Anyhoo, I colored my penguin with my prismacolor colored pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. I paper pieced her scarf and hat.

The adorable sentiment is from the Penguin Girl set as well. I used my FAVORITE Ice Crystal Glitter Paint to give the ice she is on some shimmer. This stuff is awesome! Ok. pop over to the Challenge Blog to see what the other awesome designers have made...and to play along!!!!

For my card today I used the NEW PeachyKeen Kut Outs Boy Scarecrow Die. I stamped the adorable Scarecrow Boy stamp onto that..and stamped it a few more time onto patterned paper so I could paper piece this sweet guy! The sentiment is from the Bunny Dolls set also from PeachyKeenStamps.com. The patterned papers are from the Mitten Weather collection from Cosmo Cricket. Hello! For my card today I used Emma's new set called 100% Sweetness. I stamped the cupid images to make my background paper and then went over that with the new Tim Holtz distress ink call Festive Berries. This is an awesome red! ♥ it!!! {thanks for the happy mail Emma!} I then spritzed it with water mixed with perfect pearls in a mini mister. When you do this technique you will get splotches {which I love!} BUT if you want a smoother look, be sure to let your ink dry first. You can see the shine here...

It really is cooler in real life. I stamped the xoxo's from the 100% Sweetness set and they make a perfect 4 inch strip to go across a card front. ;) Lastly, I white heat embossed the sentiment onto the heart die that is INCLUDED in the 100% Sweetness set!!!!

lovey hearts...and My "winner"

Here is a lovey card I made using the NEW 100% Sweetness stamp set from MyCreativeTime. I stamped the sweet love heart image 3 times and then inked it up with spun sugar and tattered rose distress inks. Then I spritzed it with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister. I spritzed it while the ink was still wet because I like the splotchy look...BUT...if you want a more even look, zap your project with a heat tool to dry the ink...orrrrrr if you have patience you could let it air dry ;)

Here you can see the sparkle on the heart strip. I used the apron lace fiskars border punch to finish off my super simple lovey card.

Hello and happy Sunday to you! For my card today I used the cool Lightbulb Set from PeachyKeenStamps. It's a set of acrylic shapes and they're COOL! I stamped a face from The Cornies assortment set. So my little guy may not look like the brightest bulb on the string, but he sure is cute! ;)

Here you can see the shine of the acrylic. I used just a few tiny dabs of glossy accents to adhere the paper to the back of the bulb. The super sweet sentiment is from the Oh By Golly set. Again, I'll say that I really think Oh By Golly is a must have set. I LOVE it!

I used the Christmas Tree Die and cut out the base with white cardstock. Then I stamped the Decorate Me Christmas Tree onto it and paper pieced it all up. OH...this awesome die also coordinates with the Santa Tree stamp set, so it's like a two-fer! ;)

The face on the tree is from The Cornies Assortment set. I ♥ these faces!!! The sentiment is from the awesome set called Oh By Golly...a total must have in my opinion! The tree is on a wobble so it wiggles. ;)

Peachy Keen Kut Outs Blog Hop!

Hello! If you've just arrived from Janice's Blog, then you're heading in the right direction...if not please head back to the beginning HERE. You do not want to miss anything! Ok for my first card I cut the NEW Winter Character With Hunter Hat Die. {Yep! There are now dies to coordinate with the stamps!!! SO COOL!!!!!} I then stamped the Penguin Boy With Bobber onto it. As the name suggests, he is holding a fishing bobber BUT I turned it into and ornament. I used my white gel pen to turn the loop into a hook. I paper pieced the ornament and his adorable hat! I am officially obsessed with paper piecing.

I stamped the sentiment from the Oh By Golly set onto the Real Estate Sign Punch. The Oh By Golly set is chock full of awesomeness and the stamps are BIG...a total must have in my opinion! OH and if you look really closely at the ice he is standing on, you'll see it sparkle...that's because I painted it with some cool Ice Crystal Glitter Paint. This is great because you can get into tight spaces unlike with stickles!

For this card I cut out the Igloo Die and stamped the Igloo stamp onto it. And THEN I took it up a few notches using embossing ink and UTEE {Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel}... you can see here...

EEK! Isn't it cool!!! Looks like real ice! :o) I stamped the Igloo stamp and shaded in the blues and then covered the surface with Tim Holtz Embossing Ink {my fav} and then sprinkled on a layer of UTEE and melted with my heat tool. I then did a few more layers of UTEE to make the "ice" thicker. ;) The super sweet sentiment is also from the Igloo set. I just LOVE this awesome release!!! Ok, that's it for me...time for you to keep on hoppin!

Hello! It's challenge time again! This time we have the above sketch for follow AND a twist! The twist is to paper piece your stamped image. Confession time, I was a little intimidated by the twist because I had never done this technique...and now I am OBSESSED!!! It is time consuming but super fun and the results are just so cool!!! You have to give it a whirl!!! Ok, here's my card...

I stamped out the adorable Scarecrow Girl onto the Girl Scarecrow Die. {YEP, there are dies to coordinate with the stamps from this release!!! Awesome!!!}...... I also stamped the Scarecrow Girl a few times onto different patterned papers so I could cut them out and layer them. I definitely used non traditional fall colors for this card! ;) It's the Springtime line from Echo Park.

Hello...or should I say, HOLA! Abby from Scrapbookaholic By Abby has a line of Spanish stamps and has asked me to guest design. I do not speak fluent Spanish, but I took 2 years in high school and got straight A's. ;) For this card I used Set 3 Suspirando Con Tinta. I cut the sweet little love bug from the Simply Charmed cartridge and gave him a face from the Faceless Corn set from PeachyKeenStamps. The faces from that set are now available in an assortment set called The Cornies.

I used the small and larger hearts from Set 3 Suspirando Con Tinta to make my background. I stamped them with berrylicious colorbox fluid chalk ink and then swirled on some spun sugar distress ink. I stamped the sentiment {I love you with all my heart} onto the Curly Label Die from MyCreativeTime.

Here is another card I made for the MarketStreetStamps Paint The Town challenge...but I decided to enter the butterfly card from yesterday. I hope I made the right decision! I stamped the Too Many Martinis background from MarketStreetStamps. I colored in some of the circles using a mix of distress inks and perfect pearls and water {painted it in}.

I stamped the sweet cup from the Enjoy Today set and colored it with prismacolor pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. I swear it is more sage in real life! I added some rock candy distress stickles to the "liquid" in the cup. For the little heart tag I added some glossy accents. The sentiment is also from this set from MarketStreetStamps.

Hello! Here is a card I made for the MarketStreetStamps Paint The Town Color Challenge. The challenge is to use the colors Concord, Dusty Lavender, Thistle, and Subtle Sage. I stamped the Vintage Wallpaper background stamp and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I used my large Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I used distress inks on them and then misted with perfect pearls in a mini mister. The sentiment is from the Cheap Talk set. I wanted to keep this super simple so the butterflies would pop.

Hello! First off I have to say that I'm super excited to be staying on Emma's Design Team!!! :) Here's a lil' blurb about me if you're new to my blog...As my blog name suggests, I am a PROUD NAVY WIFE!!! My hubby and I have been married for a 12 years and have been in the U.S. Navy the whole time. I absolutely LOVE crafting and it definitely keeps me sane during long deployments. I hope you will enjoy the creations I share here, and as a part of Emma's awesome Design Team!!! Her stamps ROCK :)

Ok, back to my first card for today...I used the sunburst shaped die from the Build a Banner Kit to create masks using Post- It craft paper{it's sticky on the back}. Cutting out all the little dies was actually the most time consuming part of this card, and that took all of a few minutes! :) I arranged them how I wanted and stuck them down to my card making sure that I rubbed them down well. I then used my foam blending tool to pounce on distress ink in scattered straw. Be sure to pounce rather than rub or you will get color under your masks. Before removing the masks I spritzed on some gold perfect pearls and water in a mini mister. You can see the shine a little better here...

After removing the masks I stamped the sun, moon, and star from the Encouraging Quotes stamp set into the negative images left behind by the masks. The sentiment is also from the Encouraging Quotes set and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder....onto my other card for today...

I used four different stamp sets from MyCreativeTime for this card. :) I stamped the snowflake from the Anyday Bingo and Crossword set with Tim Holtz embossing ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder to make my night sky. To make the snow banks I used the burlap stamp from the awesome Build a Banner Kit. I stamped it over itself a few times to make a line long enough to cover my card. I white heat embossed it and used distress inks in tumbled glass and broken china to add color. I then spritzed on some perfect pearls and water to add some sparkle.

I white heat embossed the sentiment from the All Around Christmas set onto the Curly Label Die. I stamped the sweet snowman from the All Around Accessories set and used my prismacolor colored pencils to color his hat, scarf and nose. I added some sakura stardust glitter pen to his scarf. And lastly, for the hearts on his tummy, I mixed some white opal liquid pearl with barn door distress ink on my craft sheet and painted in the hearts with a brush. This gives it a raised, pearly look. You could use perfect pearls and ink here, but it wouldn't look raised.

Okie dokie...I hope you likey my cards for today! :)

Hi bloggy friends! :) For this card I used one of my all time favorite background stamps from MarketStreetStamps called Hearts a Plenty. The birds and the talk bubble and sentiment are from a set called Cheep Talk also from MarketStreetStamps. I wanted to keep it simple, so instead of coloring the image in, I used my Sakura Stardust glitter pen. It's really REALLY sparkly in person. :)

Hello!!! For this card I got my card base and layering circles from the Smiley Cards cricut cartridge. I stamped the Pretty Perfect Grid from MarketStreetStamps onto the yellow circle with charcoal colorbox fluid chalk ink. I stamped the sentiment and the sun from the Sure Miss You set also from MarketStreetStamps using that same ink. Just a quick and simple card today. :)

Hello and happy Sunday! When I got the new Faceless Corn stamp set from PeachyKeenStamps in the mail I put a post-it-note on it to use this sentiment with this candy corn girl from the Mini Monsters cartridge. :) I'm sure glad I did because I love how it turned out!

Her sweet face is from the Wide Eyed Kids Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps. The patterned paper is from the Ghosts and Goblins mat stack by DCWV.
