I'm a good dog...

Hello! The fabulous Tanner a.k.a. MrCricutCrazy asked me to guest design for him, so he sent me some of his cutie patootie stamps! ;) And just so you know, they are manufactured by PeachyKeenStamps so you KNOW they are of the highest quality! Gotta love peachies! Anyhoozle...I used his set called Razzel for my little yorkie and the sentiment. SO CUTE!
I colored him with my prismacolor colored pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. The patterned paper is from the Max and Whiskers collection by Basic Grey. Pop over to Tanner's Shop and look around...lots of stamps and other fun supplies like ink, glimmer mist, and twine!

This card was inspired by my new baby fur brother Bruiser...who is a yorkie and DEFINITELY does BAD things! HAHAHA.......but he is so dang cute it doesn't matter! ;)

My Creative Time's July Stamp release BLOG HOP!

Hello and happy hopping!!! If you've arrived from Emma's blog, you're in the right place! If not, head back to Emma's blog and begin at the beginning. ;) For my card today I used the ADORABLE new set called All Around Halloween and the Scallop and Circle die set. {I only used the scalloped die, not the circle}. I used the scallop die to create a mask using post it craft paper. I then inked it all up with spiced marmalade distress ink and misted with copper perfect pearls and water in a mini mister.  I zapped it with my heat gun to dry it so I could peel up the masks to reveal the white. I then stamped the thin circle using a stamp from the Flower Centers stamp set from PeachyKeenStamps.com.  Then I stamped the adorable round greeting from the All Around Halloween set inside it...and finally stamped the little ghost inside that.
Here you can see a little better that I used a little bit of perfect pearls and water to "paint" in my ghost with shimmer. Looks really cool in person! OH, and that super cute sentiment is also from the All Around Halloween set. Ok, that's it for me......but first....

***GIVEWAY ALERT***

I used the almost released set called All Around Christmas. I also used the scalloped die that will be available with the release on Friday. ;) Here they are separately...
I used milled lavender distress ink on this one and I swear it matches in real life. It is not sunny out, so I used a lamp to take the pics and they look awful. Sorry!
I used Worn Lipstick distress ink for this one...
And for this last one I used my FAV distress ink color Broken China. All of the cards were also misted with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister to add shine.
I popped up each scalloped sentiment and called em' done. ;) Now scoot over to Emma's Blog to see the awesomeness that she has created...AND to see the awesomeness from the rest of the design team.

Here is my sneak for today. I used two of the soon to be released sets for this card. The angel wings are from the Happy Mail set and the sentiment is from the Many Greetings set.
I swear this looks way cooler in person, but my camera didn't want me to get a good photo of it because it couldn't handle all the sparkle. ;) I stamped my background and inked it up with victorian velvet distress ink. I then stamped 5 of the larger wings and cut them out and inked them. I used my sakura clear stardust pen to glitter up the wings. Okie dokie, that's it for me today! Be sure to pop over to Emma's Blog and see the rest of the awesomenesss there!!!

Thinking of you

Hello. Yesterday I got some happy mail from my friend and DT sista Shar. THANKS SHAR!!! She made and sent me two of these pretty rosettes! As soon and I saw the little perforation marks I knew exactly what stamp was just screaming to be used so I went and got the adorable Hearts a Plenty background stamp from MarketStreetStamps.com.  I also just happened to have my aged mahogany distress ink out and it matched that button perfectly! SCORE! ;)
The sentiment is from the Vintage Greetings set from PinkByDesign. OH "tip alert"!!! Speaking of distress ink..... It can sometimes be hard to get a good stamped impression when using distress inks, but here is a tip to remedy the problem! Before inking up with distress ink...ink up your stamp with embossing ink first! The embossing ink acts a little like glue to help hold the distress ink on. :)

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

hello

HAPPY FRIDAY PEEPS!!! Today's card is super simple, but I love how it turned out. I used the Martha Stewart Crafts 3 in 1 butterfly punch to use up tiny scraps of my FAVORITE paper from the Stella and Rose collection by My Mind's Eye. I ♥ it so much I don't want to waste any at all!
I mounted them on little punched circles and gave them pearls. The sentiment is from the set called Vintage Greetings from PinkByDesign. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I ♥ that set!

Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!

♥ Nikki ♥

psst...do you see what's peeking out from the inside of the card? ;) I always like to add a lil' somethan to the inside of my cards.

Gettin' inky with masking!!!

Hello! I have some fun masking techniques to share today using Emma's Curly Label Die. For this first card, I cut out 3 and evenly spaced the cuts on the front of a 4.25x4.25 card. I used the "negative" spaces for this card, but you'll see in a bit how I also used the "positive" cuts. For all my masking today I used Post It Craft Paper which is self adhesived backed, but not super sticky so it is PERFECT for these kinds of techniques!!! You do want to make sure you rub it down really well so the ink doesn't seep underneath your mask.
Use your ink blending tool to really blot on a lot of ink...but be sure to be careful not to rip the mask. If you did the "normal" technique of swirling on color from off the side, it might get messy! Above you can see what I used. There are copper perfect pearls and water in the mini mister. I ♥ perfect pearls!!! And here is this finished card......
The sentiment is from the This and That set from Emma. And the coordinating stamp that fits inside the die is from the Inspiring Words Accents set. The flower stamps are OLD from my stash...
Here you can see the perfect pearls sparkle a little better. And here is a card I made using the same technique, I just made a strip instead of a card front...
The sentiment is from the Wow So Many Candles set also by Emma.
I promise they stamp perfectly, I just really REALLY need to re-ink my staz-on pad! And now onto my FAVORITE card for today...I ♥ how this one turned out!
Here I used a bunch of "positive" cuts of the Curly Label Die to create my own patterned paper. Again, make sure to really rub them down so the ink doesn't get underneath them...
I blotted the ink on and then misted again with copper perfect pearls and water. See the shine? And here is the finished card which I just ♥!!!
The sentiments are from the So Grateful For You set. This is just a simple one layered card that packs a lot of punch because of the bright ink color! Here you can see the shine a little better...
Well, I hope you like my cards for today! Have a GREAT day!!!

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. sorry for this looonnnggg post! ;)

PeachyKeen Challenge 56

Hello! It's challenge time again and this time we have the above sketch to follow. No twist this time. ;) I decided I wanted to do a sort of Christmas in July card...but it turned out more Winter in July...guess that is fitting because it is HOT HOT HOT out!!!
I stamped the snowflakes from the Snow Flakey set with embossing ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I then went over my cardstock with distress ink in Broken China...and while it was still wet I spritzed with water from a mini mister to make it look more "snowy". And then I spritzed the whole thing with some perfect pearls and water in a mini mister to add sparkle.
The sentiment is from the Chill Baby Chill Snowman Set. I white heat embossed the sentiment too. Then I just did some white stitching with my sakura gelly roll pen and called this card done. ;) So pop over to the CHALLENGE BLOG and see what everyone else made..and to play along!!!

So grateful for you

Happy Monday! For my card today I used Emma's awesome new Curly Label Die. I wanted to use it for something more than just a sentiment, and this is what I came up with. I cut two out of that cute striped patterned paper which is from the Confetti Paper Pack from PeachyKeenStamps.com. The other patterned paper I used is also from that Confetti Paper Pack. I then punched out and arranged my butterflies from the Martha Stewart 3 in 1 butterfly punch. I LOVE that punch!!!
For my sentiment I stamped the coordinating stamp for the die that can be found in the  set called Inspiring Words Accents. I heat embossed it and my sentiment which is from the So Grateful For You set. That pretty ribbon can be found HERE at PeachyKeenStamps.com and coordinates perfectly with the patterned paper from the Confetti Paper Pack. See, there are more than just stamps in the PeachyKeen store! Next time you're over there, be sure to peruse the "supply" section. ;) There are TONS of fun goodies in there!

Have a GREAT day!

I ♥ my friends who live in the computer

Hello! I made this card to enter in the Color Cue Challenge over at MarketStreetStamps. The colors to be used are dusty gray, ruby red, and turquoise. I stamped my background paper with red ink using the Perfectly Pretty Grid from MarketStreetStamp.com. Their stamps make PERFECT impressions every time...know why??? Because they're made by Angelica, the daughter of the PeachyQueen...and are manufactured by PeachyKeenStamps....just in case you didn't know that. ;) Ok...on we go...I stamped the CUTEST COMPUTER EVER using the aptly name Computer Cutie stamp also from MarketStreetStamps.com.
I couldn't get it to show up in the pictures, but I used my sakura clear glaze pen to make the glasses look shiny. I added 3 blingies to make the buttons. And the ADORABLE sentiment is also from the Computer Cutie stamp set. Ok, that's it for me today! Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

Summer Love

Hello and welcome to another Throwback Thursday challenge!!! Our challenge this time is to make a card using either Just Because Cards or Wild Card and there must be some kind of embossing {either heat or dry} on it somewhere. For my card I used the Just Because Cards cartridge for my card base and for the watermelon. My embossing on this card is "dry". I used my stylus to smush in the seeds on my watermelon to make them shiny and more real looking.....and of course you can't tell from the pics! LOL....grrrrrrrrr......
For my sentiment I used 2 separate word stamps from the Have Fun in the Sun stamp set from MyCreativeTime. I love that you can mix and match and make your own sayings! ;) Ok, that's my card for this challenge!!! Head over to Emma's blog to see her card and the rest of the awesome designers creations!!! I hope you have fun with this challenge...I sure did!

Sweet Land of Liberty

Hello and Happy 4th of July to you and yours! For my card today I decided to make a patriotic card. I used the stars from the Independence Day set from PinkByDesign to make my own patterned paper.  I used the Sweet Summer stamp set from PinkByDesign to make my red, white, and blue sno cone. I LOVE how my sno cone turned out!!! I white heat embossed the "cone" part on black cardstock.
To make my sno cone look real, I put a generous amount of Rock Candy Stickles on and let it dry over night. It looks even cooler in real life! The sentiment is from the Red, White, & Blue set also from PinkByDesign. I thought it was quite fitting for my patriotic sno cone! ;)

I hope you have a FABULOUS FOURTH!!!!

God Bless America!

Thanks for helping me out of a tight spot

Hello and happy Friday!!! For my card today I used the Puzzled background stamp from PinkByDesign. I stamped it on white cardstock with embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then used Tim Holtz distress ink in the Broken China to add my color. I always use the inksentials foam applicator and tool to do this technique. I got my puzzle piece from the My Community cricut cartridge which I have never used before. oops!
I stamped a face on it from the Wide Eyed Kids Assortment from PeachyKeenStamps.com. The sentiment I used comes from a manly stamp set called Tool Time from PinkByDesign...but I girled it up! ;) Well........I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!
